He had a perfect relationship with Txiki not so sure with Viana

Too many people needing too many touches. Too many players who can't be passed to in tight spaces and be expected to keep hold of it under pressure. Rodri and Bernardo are probably the only players in the current team who I'd trust to receive the ball in almost any situation and keep hold of it. We used to have Mahrez on the wing who you could pass to from 60 yards away and be sure he'd be able to control it. Would you bet your house on any of Doku, Marmoush, Savinho, Bobb or Haaland doing similar?

To think we used to slag Mahrez off. Fucking quality in reality, wasn’t he.

I can accept a regression for a season or 2 after the 4 seasons we had but at the moment the recruitment is looking very scattergun and I'm not sure the bones of another great squad is in place which is the most worrying thing.

We weren't poor all game, but we were when the going got tough and that has now become a common occurrence the last 12 months. How many games since last November have we lost after being infront? Today's game was practically the same as last season down there. 1 up at half time then fell to bits second half. We keep getting beat same way. We've spent a fortune, but all our problems remain.

That's all fine and well, but Pep won't see most of them for the next 10 days (maybe that might be a good thing ?).

Those are my thoughts too, but we collapsed today, no real excuse for that. I'd find a way to get Nico O'Rielly in the team, alongside Rodri, he's a big strong lad and we need some of that, all a bit powder puff otherwise for me.

It was very clear within a couple of minutes after their subs that they had changed their tactics and style of play so why did we not make any adjustments to players, formation or tactics to counteract it?

Granted, we could have gone more defensive, but pragmatism is Pep’s last refuge.

Khus should have played RB with Dias as the LCB, but Pep thought he could come here and play 2 at the back with a DM dropping in to allow the full backs to get wide and long and the “wingers” tucking in.

At HT, while unconvincing, we were ahead, and it might have led to a more pragmatic approach in the second half, by using an extra defender and placing Stones in alongside Rodri for some cover. Alas…

Cue their QUAD change around the 60 minute mark, and there was looking like there was only going to be one winner and one wondered if Khus was going to be able to stay on the field…more because of a desperate lunging second yellow than an injury!

Just look at their winner and ask yourself if that looks like a team who has ANY CLUE how to defend a draw, let alone a lead?!

The bench had an entire second back four, and we used 2 of them, and STILL couldn’t do a damned thing to blunt their no name subs!!!

EXACT SAME PERFORMANCE AS LAST SEASON!

Can Pep not learn?
Can the players not see and feel it?
What does the long bench full of coaches actually do?
Where can I pick up that 7 figure job????
