Really looking forward to this. We are in poor form but we know we can turn it around. We could win 4-0 or lose 2-0, and there's not been many (if any) games for years where we don't know what we can expect in terms of performance on the day. I think that just adds to the excitement.

Same here.

A mixture of dread because Brighton have the ability to pick apart our obvious weaknesses but excitement because they play open football which might be exactly what we need to find our confidence.

First 15 minutes will be vital.

When spurs beat us in the champions league in 17-18 he started 17 year old foden 3 days later against spurs in the league (he scored).

When our season looked to be stuttering around January in the treble season with squad harmony issues he airdropped Rico Lewis I to the side out of no where which reignited some fire.

Pep has said in the past that when we have needed some fire in us he has used a young hungry academy player to inject some energy.

Based on that, I think today is a good time to start wright or O'Reily. Based on injuries simpson-pusey may have to start, but putting one of the midfielders in next to kovacic adds some legs we otherwise don't have at the moment.

I see what you're saying but just can't see it myself, it will probably be the same again including several underperforming players who aren't worthy of starting games at present. Just can't see any game where the likes of Wright, O'reilly, Mcatee are going to start now tbqh

I hate the term “must win” but I feel this today could be a pivotal game in our season. We are lucky the three losses have been spread across three separate competitions so the accumulation isn’t as disastrous as it could have been.

3 points today is a must to give the lads a mush needed boost and back to winning ways. Come on City!

Would snatch your hand off for a clean sheet tomorrow, probably unlikely the way things are going at the moment. But our midfield and the team in general has to manage the transitions a lot better. I would be tempted to start with Walker (if fit) at rb as Lewis has struggled recently. Would be a big boost to have Kev back, we really miss his creativity.
I get where you’re coming from because at least with a clean sheet we won’t have lost the game.

But clean sheets aren’t particularly important. A 1-3 win is better than a 0-2 win, since come the end of the season ‘goals scored’ comes into the equation if you’re level on points whereas ‘goals conceded’ and ‘clean sheets’ aren’t even looked at.

It’s a funny one that isn’t it? It’s a state-the-bleedin-obvious comment.

If you’re going for trophies, in the immediacy before a game, every single game is a ‘must win’ (apart from in the new CL League Phase).

Today will really show us where we are at for the rest of the season, in my opinion. If we see a reaction we'll be fine, another pasting and the Grand Canyon running through our midfield and I think we're in trouble. At least until January when we can do some surgery.
