Brighton look absolutely shite so if we don't win this we can begin to worry about the prospects of this season, even three games in.

They have missed a lot of chances in their two games, and they have players of quality ...... as with all of our games, if we go there and don't give our best, we'll come off second best again, as we did last Saturday .... Brighton create chances and are a dangerous opponent, who are eager not only to get their first win, but to climb out of the relegation zone !

This would suggest not as bad as the scorelines suggest:

I think they were 1.5 v 0.7 against Fulham as well.

Obviously xg doesn't say everything but does suggest they've either been unlucky or shit in front of goal.

I'd say shite as it backs up what I said originally ;)

I’m starting to wonder if three at the back is the way to go. We’ve got the players to play the system.

We really need to win this ones, or at least draw. Going into the derby with two defeats would not be good at all.
And with the rags home to Burnley, there is the very real prospect of them ending the weekend ab ove us.

Perish the thought.

I would say a bit of both, couple of chances on Saturday v Everton the final pass was behind the player taking a shot, rounded Pickford only to hit it to hard for Pickford to save. We only had Welbz up front and no striker on the bench.

Especially if Savinho leaves that means we have just 1 traditional winger, however I believe Doku could play the second striker role quite well rotating with Marmoush

Be good to get some more minutes in the legs of Rodri and Foden. Then hopefully neither go away to the international team to allow further progression on their return to fitness.

The success of this season depends on Rodri and Foden rediscovering fitness and form more so than the impact of the new signings.

The more I think about it the more i feel that the reason Crystal Palace or Brighton have the confidence to go at us is because of our recent struggles against the top 6.

A Bournemouth approach would be very different if they saw us beat Arsenal or Liverpool or the rags 4-0 3-0 the previous week.
The confidence sinks even before a ball is kick.
Now we get defeated by Spurs at Etihad and suddenly Brighton thinks they have a decent chance in the game.

We need to put a marker down like we used to do before. A 4-0 5-0 win every other week and the opponents knows who is the king of the league.
None of this Fulham Wolves Brighton will be tricky nonsense.
