I did post on the po asking for Brighton thread, but just incase you don't read it a little info.

Hi all
Update on the P&R sites.
Racecourse park & ride will not be in operation for this match.
Mill Road park & ride will be available as usual and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
To compensate for the loss of Racecourse, the club has secured additional park & ride sites at Pyecombe and EDF. These sites must be pre-booked in advance.
Please note:

  • The last park & ride bus departs the stadium 90 minutes after the final whistle
  • Pyecombe and EDF sites will close shortly after the last bus departure
For those who don't know where Pyecome is it's on the A23 just before you come into Brighton. You will see the Texaco petrol station on the right. I believe you turn off the A23 just a little further on. Remember I need to book. Hope this helps

-------------Ederson
--Stones--Khusanov--Gvardiol
Nunes-------Nico------O'Reilly
-------Reijnders--Foden
--------Bobb---Haaland

Pep really needs to consider switching to a back three — it would help them play out from the back more comfortably and deal better with balls in behind. That goal they conceded was far too soft, and the reaction at the back was shockingly slow

But for now

Trafford

Nunes
Stones
Gvardiol
O'Reilly

Rodri
Reijnders
Cherki

Foden
Bobb
Haaland
If Gvardiol, Rodders and Ait-Nouri are ready I'd tweak with Khus and RAN, but not a chance Pep picks Khus
I'd prefer a genuine RB, but still reckon as it stands Nunes-Khus-Gvardiol-RAN is our best back 4 - it's raw but it has plenty of ability and PACE. Maybe Stones in there for the experience

One thing is for sure, whoever it is and whatever formation we play everything has got to be much faster. Certainly than in the Spurs match. Watching several games this weekend and the Newcastle Liverpool one right now everything has got so much more zip about it. We’ve just got to match that energy and pace otherwise it all gets slow and predictable. Wolves performance much better on that score.

We need to pass the ball much better and hold on to it. Team has to pass the ball really well under Pep ,but we were pretty poor on saturay playing out from the back and loosing the ball a lot in the middle of the field.

I actually fancy us to respond. Id expect there to be a fair few changes but hoping that Cherki gets another start.

Ederson
Nunes Khusanov Stones Gvardiol
Bernardo Nico Reijnders
Cherki Haaland Foden

Nunes and Gvardiol can hold the width and you have the recovery pace of Khusanov too. I know Foden doesn't love playing off the left but you with Gvardiol pushed high and wide he's got freedom to move infield.

Put a lot of pressure on ourselves for this game by getting beat kn Saturday.
If we had 6 points now, I think most would be satisfied with a point at Brighton.
It's almost a must win game already and will be even more so if Liverpool win tonight

I don't care if we have to play like Dyche's Burnley, as long as we win I don't care.

We lose here with United and Arsenal around the corner, you can forget the league, we could be in a top 4 battle by mid-September.
Absolute garbage. With just 2 matches played only 3 teams in the entire PL have maximum points, and two out of those three were lucky - Spurs caught us on an off day and Liverpool just ragged a100th minute winner.

To potentially write us off after a handful of matches is beyond absurd. I still find it staggering how many flappers we have on this forum given our record over the last 15+ years. Even last season after a run of something like 11 without a win we still finished third and reached the cup final.

Doesn't work like that. We've come from well behind many times to win the league when most wrote us off, and came back to claim CL place with room to spare last season even when people had written us off with 3 games to go. To start talking about "must wins" after just 2 matches - one of which we actually won remember - is just plain stupid. Sorry but there's no other word for it.

Without doubt this is a must win game.

We are in the position now the Dippers were in a few years ago where they knew they had to win every game to keep up.

I've read a lot about us and fans saying "team in transition, rebuild, a few years" etc. But no way do I think the board will settle for that.

After yesterday I haven't a clue apart from Foden starting with 4 others in the middle and only Haaland up top.

Which 4 I don't know because Savinho looks done.
I had high hopes for Doku this season but yesterday must have been his worst performance since joining.

Bernardo looked out of it and Marmoush, can't make my mind up. A piece of brilliance appears to paper over a lot of cracks.

People going on about Kushanov starting instead of Dias or playing at right back.
Neither is going to happen.
