Bring the Noise

It just shows that what the fans do, does make a difference.

It puts me in mind of some of the debates about CL games in particular and midweek games in general.

Without rehashing the whole thing, quiet half empty stadiums with 10/15 mins to go are detrimental to the team performance.

When the place is rocking like last night, you’ll drag an extra yard out of each and every one of them.

Hats off to all in attendance and applauded the team off. You were a credit to the club.

last night showed what we are capable of. on our day we are one of the loudest bunch of fans in the country. we get stick all the time and i think some city fans have almost forgotten our loyalty, passion and the noise we brought we were climbing the divisions. all those fans who usually sit in silence actually sung last night and got behind the team.

it helped the team so much and i think was one of the biggest contributing factors to our win.

also all those fans that leave early stayed last night. just shows people can stay til the end,. it should be like that every week.

Complacency sets in over time and against Palace, had the fans reacted like last night from the second half kick off, it may have been a different end result. Last night was shit or bust for us though and both the players and fans turned up big style.

Agree with that. We, the fans, needed to make an effort last night and look what we contributed to. Everyone who was there needs to remember what can happen if we really get behind the team.

Still got a sore throat, didn’t hear the dippers until they scored then quiet again they did not expect the level of noise directed at them. All our fans played a fantastic part I was in 102 usually low key boy they turned up the volume some and more.
Anyway back to the soothers for the throat.

I couldn't believe anyone would want to miss applauding them players off last night
I had a two hour drive home after the game, was up at 5am Friday for work, but there was absolutely no way I was leaving early without applauding the players off the pitch, unbelievable effort from everyone of them! CITY

Anyone else feel absolutely worn out after last night? I don't know if it was the increased singing, the added importance of the game or that I couldn't sleep because I was buzzing after the game but I feel shattered.
Bring back winning the league at a canter!

Went to work and was buzzing all day. Had a couple of pints at tea time and made the mistake of sitting down. Twenty minutes later i was home and nodding off in the bath.

It will be back to normal tomorrow

Probably true re the atmosphere lol but there will be more fans in the ground than for most Prem home games. I bet it will some youngsters’ first home game and there will be lots of families in the ground who don’t usually get tickets. I hope it’s a memorable game and we see a Foden goal.

it takes 2 clubs and something on the game for the noise and atmosphere and when the etihad has both it rocks with the best

its just lazy journalism and the scum media that tag us empty etihad ??? even the tv crew turn down the mic on match days and shown a couple of empty seats and make a big deal out of it, they never once show rows and rows of empty seat at united or liverpool but they are there each week and the crowd mic's are turn up its a dirty old trick to make watching fans think its something special every game but its not, i think manchester city have had bigger gates at the etihad then liverpool at anfield for 15 years or more and even maine road in its day was bigger

Not working very well then, tbf.

The only noisy atmosphere at Anfield or the swamp is usually coming from the commentators telling us how great it is, each time a home song breaks out after 20 minutes of near silence, whinging at the ref or away fans singing.

Even Gary Chuckle commented on the noise we were making and that takes something.

To those saying it should be like that every game, that’s impossible. It’s not as simple as fans singing and shouting. It’s the occasion, the importance of the match, the game itself which all influence atmosphere and vis versa to an extent.

However we should absolutely be better at home in general. Too many times fans expect us to walk the game and when we aren’t winning they sit there, quiet, expecting.

Hopefully this will highlight to most how important fans are in terms of being the 12th man. And equally hopefully it will be boost the average game atmosphere from now on.
