Bring the Noise

Maybe the penny will drop one day.

After fans have just paid £100's during April alone including both Madrid games at home (with some fans doing Wembley and Madrid away also) they think it's acceptable to be charging on average £45 for Brighton at home.

When they see empty seats in abundance tonight maybe they will realise (probably not lol)

Can't believe how out of touch they really are at the minute with fans - it's getting worse with each passing season.
City will more likely think “we need to make more of this stadium corporate because we can’t fill it going off normal tickets for the paupers” while being completely clueless about why.

But I stand by my point earlier, we have shit loads of local fans who never bother coming to games.

City need to learn how to tap into them.

my nephew , 15 ,just been given 2 free tickets from a college he goes to.

good for me and the nipper, his older brother is now driving us down so we'll get back earlier than usual tonight.

Youve answered your own question. Price.

seeing £55 bounce out of my account for the real game will make me think twice next year.
Make tickets cheap enough and the ground will be packed. As is seen when they do decent deals for cup games.

but no, not city. If they can squeeze an extra tenner out of you they will

Out of touch is an understatement

Anyone with a spare for tonight and doesn't want an empty seat - pm me. I can shift them if you're willing to give them away for free.

Already shifted 4 this afternoon.

4 extra fans in the stadium, supporting the lads.
This is going well so far. Up to 6 tickets today. Tickets that otherwise would have gone to waste.

surely the obvious answer to tap into locals is to make tickets cheaper. The fa cup games are a great example of that. Lots of younger people and families who never go to league games. Most people aren’t going to pay £42 a ticket

atleast if it’s still not full everyone has a chance of a ticket

We are stuck in a vicious circle where loads of people aren’t going because the atmosphere and match day experience is often shit. We’ve got a bunch of people trying desperately to get the atmosphere going in the wrong areas singing the wrong songs and that’s making it worse. And it’s giving us a PR problem because we are starting to get a label for it and that doesn’t appeal to young fans.

The missed opportunity was the south stand extension.

The rest of the season has the potential to be great but it also has the potential to be awful.

Whilst i sympathise with the club for needing to wash its own face with match day revenue, I think the nuclear option would be to rip everything up and slash prices in specific areas. The lost revenue might easily be recouped in the longer term through attracting young fans.

A lot of old Maine Rd fans won’t go and haven’t gone as they are old school have good drink a smoke and a bit of banter

They won’t go to be told you can’t drink while watching the game, can’t smoke inside stadium and told to sit down all the time especially after being in work all day

The club needed to tap into the younger fans, those that are social media and games consoles mad

The problem then is a lot of the characters gone, replaced by fans who would rather share the experience with those on social media

This is why atmosphere is gone at most grounds not just ours

It’s just another stick to hit us with
