Bristol City (Carabao Cup SF) Post Match Thread

Another 'City defence is shit' myth spreader. 2nd best defence in the league. We're going to conceded silly goals because of the way we play. Why can't people get that. We could get Maureen in charge I suppose

That's very childish.

We were the best defence in the league because we were actually the best defence on the league, with 4 defenders & keeper playing excellently.

We wouldn't win 20 odd games straight off defending like this.
Anybody who doesn't think Pep Guardiola is looking at the defence right now, is off their heads.

We were fantastic tonight in a hostile atmosphere & played our game brilliantly, then let in goals from easy situations to give the game a completely false impression.

It's not what we were doing a few weeks ago, we have allowed the standard to drop.

To win the final & get anywhere in the latter stages in europe we have to get back to that level.

Lee Johnson. Fantastic coach, only 36 yo. Can become an elite manager in the future I think. Their win vs United wasn't a fluke.

Yes, I like him. Very respectful too. He just said that City are the best side he has EVER seen live.

Some just can't get it in their heads that the system we play will leave us open to conceding the odd goal like we do but the reality is for every goals we concede which might be a bit shit on the eye, we will score 3/4/5 and that's all that matters.

They also need to realise that our defenders dont have the option of hoofing it clear as its just not allowed under Pep.

he wants them to find a pass, always and he accepts the risks that goes with it because he knows it wins him games of football.

Our fans need to accept it as well instead of the weekly, "we cant defend" bollox.
Of course people accept that and expect it. I think the concern is over completely unnecessary individual errors and not errors caused by the system.

Good on him. Shame he can’t convince some of our own fans but then I’m not sure they all watch us.

The real shame is Bristol City will not fill that stadium again , because the extra 15k they had tonight will go back to watching the Rags on telly to join the other 659m , brilliant support from our fans , loved the "where were you on Friday night" chant , after all the shit they spewed when they mustered 8k fans at our place. We managed the game well tonight , you could see in the latter stages at 2-0 our players were not risking getting clattered and we let in a couple of soft goals but no harm done we are at Wembley , we beat the team the Rags could not and we will take their League Cup from them , fortunately we are not shit enough to take their Europa Cup.

And I’m suggesting given time he will return to his level based on fitness and confidence. He’s making mistakes as a result of these factors. He has to play through them. He’s yet to single handedly cost us a game due to his performances. A lot of what he’s lost through not playing is timing and starting position especially heading wise. If you’ve ever been out for a while that’s what comes back last. You either get up to early or too late, or try to pinch balls instead of standing up etc. It’s game time he needs.

Hopefully yes.

Doesn't change what we have seen recently.

Was 'almost' a classic performance from City tonight in potentially really tough environment, we nailed it for football. But the stuff at the back was way below standard.

Childish? Because I don't agree with you or the other bashers, Sorry Dad haha

I believe the German saying, in English of course, is along the lines of, "A horse only jumps as high as it needs to".
