Bristol City (Carabao Cup SF) Post Match Thread

Hopefully yes.

Doesn't change what we have seen recently.

Was 'almost' a classic performance from City tonight in potentially really tough environment, we nailed it for football. But the stuff at the back was way below standard.
At no point was the outcome in doubt they scored so we went and scored. We had that ability all night. Scrappy goals no doubt but you drop to the opponents level and they raise theirs. In every big game this season bar one our concentration has been faultless and I think it will continue to be so going forward. When it’s easy, and forget crowd noise and commentary, it was easy over two legs we played well within ourselves, you’re more likely to lose concentration.

Some just can't get it in their heads that the system we play will leave us open to conceding the odd goal like we do but the reality is for every goals we concede which might be a bit shit on the eye, we will score 3/4/5 and that's all that matters.

They also need to realise that our defenders dont have the option of hoofing it clear as its just not allowed under Pep.

he wants them to find a pass, always and he accepts the risks that goes with it because he knows it wins him games of football.

Our fans need to accept it as well instead of the weekly, "we cant defend" bollox.
Fantastic summation

The goals we conceded had nothing to do with the system. They were just crap.
Or maybe just knackered because the pace we play and they need to play every game because Vinny is always injured and Mangala is shit! Their first goal came because Fern wasn't sprinting back - which is probably the only time this season he has done that. How is that Stones' fault? And the second came as a result as Danilo's shit clearance and Zinchenko being out of position. But what the hell. We won easily and are at Wembley AGAIN. Why am I arguing with miserable sod's lol. I'm going for a pint to celebrate. You should try it ;-)

Spot on.

Great performance against a spirited team. We were better than at home because they had to come out and are a decent side,

For a team some are saying are struggling at scoring I think most sides would take 9 goals in 10 days.

Sure we could have more but that is hardly an awful record and we are creating chances and Aguero and Sane back on form and benefiting from the Sanchez 'fiasco' as someone put it earlier - or as I would the boost to the team our handling of that has actually brought.

The way we did not accept a draw and made sure that we won on the night shows we are dominating games and scoring goals whilst playing in second gear. And can shift up if needs be like we did at Anfield. If that game had lasted another 5 minutes we would surely still be unbeaten and might have won. We play so as to outscore the inevitable breakaway at the back and error that all teams commit. It is is Pep's way.

Yes the defence is a bit off at present but we will concede as that is the nature of our passing game and it will only rarely cost us. We are targeting our weaknesses in the rest of the transfer window it seems instead of going for luxury accessories like Sanchez.
