Bruno Fernandes

Having watched videos and read Sporting CP fans opinions of him. Sounds like besides being a good passer and an intelligent footballer. He is like Bernardo in the sense that he never stops running. So can definitely understand why Pep would want him.
From going back That'sto watch his games at Udinese and Sampdoria the above is the difference in his game from Italy to Portugal. He has always had that ambidextrous shooting style and attack mode mentality. It's the none stop hustle that stands out. And for that I'm excited.

Still don't think his basic passsing is up to our standard yet. But everything else is top notch. And his hustle is exceptional. So there's ground for excitement.

Unless he goes to the Rags, then all the above is false. He's just a shit Sanchez :)

Another interesting snippet from that article is that Sam Lee says that we are prepared to spend 100m NET this summer. Rodri + Bruno would pretty much cover that.

So the rest would have to be made up in sales. Difficult to see how we could fund a move for Felix if that's the case.

If true, about the NET spend, perhaps Felix is the insurance target if Sané goes.

Unless I am missing something like Gundogan is definalty leaving then I find this a bit of a strange one. We already have the 2 silva's KDB, Gundogan and of course Foden which gives us the 2 players per position Pep loves. Time will tell but there's not normally this much smoke without fire.
If you consider Bernado a winger ( which is where he predominantly plays for us) and you consider Gundogan a DM ( which is where he has predominantly played of late) that leaves 3 8s - Kevin, David, and Phil. Bruno will become the 4th.

Felix coming in means a big name forward out. Sané, Jesus or Mahrez. For me, I wouldn't bother and keep with what we've got, but if we were to let one go I would much prefer it be Mahrez. The rest can be covered by sales of fringe/CFG/academy players.

Bravo <£5m
Danilo £15-20m
Otamendi ~£20m
Adarabioyo <£5m
Marí <£5m
Delph £5-10m
García ~£5m
Gündogan £30-40m
Roberts £5-10m
Barker <£5m
Ambrose <£5m

That would give us around £90-120m on top of the £100m. That should be enough for a DM, AM, CB and a RB.
Mahrez is not a big time forward.

But we are after DM. So Fernandes most likely replaces Gundogan.

The numbers are still the same. Gundogan a DM leaves for Rodri a DM
Bruno is the 4th CM. And that assumed Silva stays. If he doesn't as someone is suggesting, then Bruno makes even more sense.

Personally I would rather give Foden his chance because bringing this guy in would possibly hamper his progress and would take up money which we need to strengthen other areas.

2 DM and four attacking midfielders is the ideal amount. 6 players for 3 positions. Two for each. Also Silva will be gone in a year probably. I don't see any issues here.

Not convinced Bernardo will play right wing long term. In that case, we might as well get rid of Sane and Mahrez and bring cheap back ups for Bernardo on the RW and Sterling on LW.

What areas needs strengthening? Outside of replacing Dihno, we are good everywhere and can mostly only improve through training and adding exceptional talent.

Foden will play. He will in essence be the backup to the starters ( Kev and Bruno).

We need a new CB if Otamendi leaves and at least one fullback. Probably two if Danilo goes.

Kevin, Bruno, Rodrigo, Phil, Dave, Dihno. 3 positions

Bernado, Sterling, Sane, Mahrez, 2 positions

Aguero, Gabby: 1 position

It's 2 for each position

It seems the 2 in each position rule is on point.

As for getting rid of Sane or Mahrez, I wouldn't see the need. We've been lucky to be healthy at the wide position all season. That's why it feels overstock. Especially with how dominant Bernado and Sterling have been this season. This will not always be the case.

Injuries to Dihno and Kev this season shows how valuable having 2 at each position is. I will only move a forward of we are getting Felix too.

Our only need is at DM. Every other need is predicated on someone leaving.

Otamendi For Maguire/ Aiderwereld
Gundogan for Bruno
Danilo fo fullback
Bravo for the American

And on and on. But in general, DM is our only need that predates the season.
