Sounds exactly what we don't wantI love Bruno but "fast" he is not, and I don't think he would offer your team much.
We have similar issues to you without Rodri, we lack someone who holds the midfield together, Bruno has generally been played in the No.6 in a three man central midfield, but his lack of positional discipline and recovery pace often leaves a big hole in front of the defense for opposition teams to just walk through us. He also has a habit of giving the ball away in dangerous positions.
A lot of Newcastle fans would like to see him played in a more advanced role, as we really lack anyone else with creative vision to pick out a defense splitting pass. At our level he could offer that, but he's not a good enough creative player at your level.

Yeah, if people think you'd be getting a player who can effectively cover for Rodri, he is not that. I love him, but he is the epitome of your current midfield issues and I don't really see where he fits into your team when Rodri is back.

Rodri was called plodri for over a year by City fans, he’s not exactly rapid.Yeah, if people think you'd be getting a player who can effectively cover for Rodri, he is not that. A player can get away with a lack of pace with great positional awareness, or get away with a lack of positional awareness with pace. Bruno isn't great in either area.

shame seems we have been linked with a lot of players in the last few daysUnfortunately not.
We will have to pay close to 100M for any new DM anyway, everyone knows we are rather desperate, so he would be my 1st choice. He can play together with Rodri as well. I wanted him in the summer, but we were reluctant. I wonder if he would be still keen...

Pretty much my take on him. Decent enough and could probably do a job for us, but no more than that. Not a player to spend big on imo. Not a number 6 either. I think we had a look at him with the intention of deploying him further upfield and with Rodri, not instead of.
Not a number 6, not good enough for us, shades of Nunes…
