I think you need to mature as a player to be able to play the holding midfield role that City adopt. Look at Yaya, he's 30 and still adding new layers to his game, so I don't think 21 is particularly old for that position.

Re: Bruno Zuculini

I just don't see City signing a player from Argentina and then bringing him all the way over to England only to send him out on loan somwhere, at least give him a season first to see what he is all about.

I think we are going to start the season with 5 central midfielders next season, them being Yaya, Fernandinho, Fernando or Carvalho, Huws and Zuculini.

Garcia and Rodwell will leave in my opinion.

In that 5 you have three seniors and two young lads, perfect balance if you ask me.

Re: Bruno Zuculini

Carricks far from average, look at what he's won whilst being a key player. The Clevz pic was a joke but all those players I listed could have done a job in this team playing in either a 2 or a 3 at 21 years of age.

The original point was about deep lying/defensive midfield players, which many players don't excel in until quite late in their career. Not attacking play makers who 'can' play in a midfield 3.

Wilshire, Ramsey, Thiago, Kross, Jorginho have all got a good enough passing range to easily do that for us. Carrick mad his England debut at 21, Xavi's recently said that Koke's his successor for Spain, simply saying attacking midfielder or average isn't a valid debate. Cambiasso's a defensive midfielder that last year was playing as a centre back.

All these players have played in attacking midfield when they've broken through at first though, some have moved to deeper positions, some haven't. It's not just about passing ability, it's about composure, game-reading/management and experience in a CDM position. Just like Centre half, it's not a position you can afford to have a younger player making mistakes in.

The club he currently plays for had some success last season ( I don't know what's going on now) , the big clubs in Europe are raiding all their best players, we managed to snap up Bruno Zuculini. He will be a fringe player for us and then we'll probably let him go after one season.
