I know this is the BT Sport thread, but I subscribe to Sky and they are both the same in respect of money grabbing biased wankers.
On the back of Agueroooooooo and his Bluemoon Kodi/Amazon Fire Tv Box thread, I cancelled my subscription yesterday. Was a struggle, took me an hour on the phone with them offering me deals galore, but I held fast.
My subscription - Family Pack with HD and Sports, with phone line and broadband had gone up to £100.00 a month, and recently had a letter to tell me it was going up to £113.00!! Tested the Kodi build for a couple of weeks, got full HD footy coverage with no buffering (American commentary on Fox so a refreshing change!) so fuck 'em!
In the end, the cancelled my tv subscription, gave me an offer as a leaving customer (?) of free broadband and half price line rental if I took a £10 a month subscription to Sky+ for record/pause/rewind facility on the Freesat service (240 channels free) and my new subscription from July will be £17.40!! That saves me £1150 quid a year!
Amazon Fire TV coat me £65 when it was on offer, and it's fantastic. This, coupled with the Freesat service with Sky+ will give me everything I need, and will cover my £850 season ticket and now I can afford a pepper steak pie every game too! ;)
Best hour's work I've done in a long time. Get it done blues.
