Budget 2024

As always the devil is in the detail but superficially it was much better than I expected, under difficult circumstance.

Small business have been suitably protected from the NI raise. The only thing that concerns me is the impact on recruitment and jobs where employers have the opportunity to offshore work. Raising the minimum wage will inevitably have a knock on effect along with increase NI for medium/large businesses.
Some additional protections around maximum percentages of offshoring of work particularly on government funded contracts is needed.

Recession on the horizon, borrowing too much and Companies will hold back on investment and employment.

Just what a Financial Advisor friend of mine has told me, plus the new Workers Charter championed by Rayner will also impact.

I was going to mention this too, already rife in telecoms and might encourage even more of it sadly. Should be something in place to stop it!

Think you have two choices when you need to reduce debt , spend less or raise your income (taxes). Labour always go for the latter. I would love to know how much is paid in any kind of benefits to people who weren't born here. I don't care what anyone says to the contrary but the benefits available contributes massively to the number of immigrants both legal and illegal and as a country we can't afford it. Tax the rich who can afford it for sure but give it to the pensioners who've contributed taxes for 40 odd years and deserve a decent standard of living without worrying if they can afford to keep warm and eat.
