Budget

Shirley they should introduce the cap on people after say Sept 2016 therefore anyone who is pregnant now is not penalised or those with more than 2 kids now, this will give people time to think about their future actions. To suddenly cut £100s a week from someone is going to end badly no matter their good intentions or not, I have only 1 child and I'm not saying it's a struggle but certainly made my decision amongst others not to have more is the cost.

Chairman Mao introduced such measures. He was a Communist according to most.

You see children as a drain on society, i see them as a bonus to society. They will be paying for your pension. They will be the future tax payers. They will be our future.

What happens if a single parent with 2 children marries another single person with 2 children? They lose money by falling in love and getting married? What happens if for all your planning you have triplets?
What happens if you are a devout Catholic and dont believe in contraception
Why do free market fundamentalists believe is denying such a basic freedom as the right to have children? That surely is statist meddling of the most severe kind.

And if the effects of the negative eugenics budget lead to a negative UK birth rate will you fully support the huge amounts of immigration we will need to work in our economy.

The law of unintended consequences looms large over this rather stupid measure. It is populist, but downright fucking idiotic in the long run.

But will they be working to pay our pensions, an element of passing the welfare lifestyle goes from generation to generation in certain households.

Well that was what is becoming a typical Osborne budget. Highly political, long on rhetoric, short on economic intelligence. Sops to the rich, hits to the poor, some meaningless meddling, the odd decent move and the usual hits on welfare. One nation Tory in the classical sense it was not.

Osborne's main thrust was making sure he is in the best position to replace Cameron as PM, so we got a very right wing Tory budget that his backbenchers would have loved.

They just cant help being the Nasty party though. It is in their DNA. I agree with the great Nye Bevan who said "No amount of cajolery can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory party. So far as i am concerned they are lower than vermin"
Guessing you wrote that before the budget came out.

Are people who do this extremely poor or something?

How much a week do you think kids cost?

My point is that I feel society would be better with more responsible people in it, whether that is socially responsibility, financial responsibility etc, withdrawing this state support will eventually hit home that you can't have 5 children and expect the state to provide for you.

I am struggling to work on out what level this girl who is under 25 thinks its a good idea to just keep having children - at what point does she stop? 6 kids? 7 kids? 15 kids? How many is too many? Does this have anything to do with me? I think it does when it's my tax funding it.

How much a week do I think a kid costs? Everything considered, I'd say between £150-£200pw on average.
