Well said that man. The other solution if you're worried about the weight is screw a wooden or metal rod to the wall. Then do 20 pull ups, if it holds its safe to put your tele there. If it doesn't you know it's not.
 
I think someone has mentioned these already. Wouldn't piss about with anything else and just order some.

Why would there be studs behind it? Will be dot and dabbed onto the blockwork.
I believe you, not how I’d do it but…..
When he said it was 5” thick and then block indicated someone might have had the sense to frame a wall inside for power and insulation?
