Why are you so addicted to Köln? It's a lovely city but a rather unlikeable club.

I don't follow the league but I hope German Rags and German Dippers don't win this season and someone else does

I’m in Düsseldorf from 10th to 13th of January next year. I can’t find any fixtures to try and attend. Is it just Bundesliga that’s on the break or most professional matches? Plenty of TV to see but I’d like to take in a game in Germany.

unlucky, you'll be here a week too early, winter break for all sorts of football leagues I'm afraid.

There might be some friendlies, otherwise, you could watch some indoors footy at Lukas Podolski's charity event in Gummersbach (near Cologne) on Sunday, 12th of Jan. Teams taking part are Karlsruher SC, Rot-Weiss Essen, 1. FC Nürnberg, Greuther Fürth and two others.

or -probably better- watch some DEL (ice-)hockey, eg. Kölner Haie (Cologne Sharks) v Berlin on Sunday as well. Lanxess arena, home of the Haie with an 18.500 capacity should be worth a visit.

Thank you anyway. I plan on the South Wales Derby first on the Sunday. I think it’s City after that.

V. good longish video about derby day - Union v Hertha - although in truth it's more about Berlin itself

Also, fans singing along to The Union Berlin club anthem - "Eisern Union"
