I have a Union Berlin shirt in my collection. They were sold to me by a passionate fan in a Berlin bar so I had a stop off in an Alexanderplatz mall before I caught my flight home.

I always fancied Spain as somewhere to live but I’d go for Germany now. The place has it right.

Why are you so addicted to Köln? It's a lovely city but a rather unlikeable club.

What’s particularly wrong with FC Koln? Bit up and down these last 20 years. Good mascot. Ground a bit far out these days but always enjoyed my visits to watch them.

Very happy to stumble across this topic/thread as I love a Bundesliga weekender. Standing terraces, proper atmosphere, decent transport links, ale, pork, what's not to love?

I live in Suffolk so I normally get the Thursday night ferry from Harwich to Hook of Holland, then train from Rotterdam to wherever, usually Cologne/Dusseldorf. Flybe (bless them) used to run a late flight on Sunday evenings from Cologne to Southend, it never cost me more than £18.

Last trip over was in mid-December - saw Bochum beat Hannover 2-1 on Friday, then Fortuna v RB Leipzig on Saturday afternoon. I thought Leipzig were very impressive - with Bayern's defensive problems and Dortmunds ongoing flakiness, this could well be Leipzigs year.

Schalke and Koln are my german teams

Now looking forward to the next block of fixtures being confirmed and planning the next trip.

Making a couple of trips over the next few weeks

Monchengladbach v Koln and then Koln v Bayern Munich

Also facing a choice (of new grounds) between Eintracht Braunschweig v Kaiserslautern or Essen v Oberhausen on Saturday 15th
