How is Jonathan Tah doing at Hamburg?

I think that lad has a lot of potential

Has been a regular until the change of coaches - but had some bad matches at the end (like a lot of the Hamburg players). Lately he only played for the second team - and for the U19. Might be the smartest right now. You do not set your faith on such young players in relegation fights - you burn them with that.

Barcelona met Gundogan for medical tests, according to Mundo Deportivo, which prepares to the departure of Xavi

What's going to happen to Dortmund this Summer?
Who knows. They will lose Gundogan and it looks like they will lose Reus as well. As things stand right now even without those players they have enough to get top 4 and probably make the last 16 of the CL given a favourable draw. They can either take the Arsenal route and focus on repaying their debts or they can actually try and catch Bayern.

Midweek both Bayern and Celtic won their respective leagues. Bayern currently have a bigger lead than even Celitc. The German clubs like Schalke and Dortmund have no excuse for this. Bayern does not even have twice the turnover or wage budget of Dortmund, but Celtic has over 5 times the turner over and wage budget of Aberdeen, yet Aberdeen were able to put up a better fight. It's not Bayern's fault, but the other teams need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Schalke need a god manager and to bring in 2 or 3 highly experienced successful players. Guys like Puyol, Xavi, Alonso, Vidic, Evra and Cole. They could also do with signing a proper defensive midfielder, but above all they need a new manager.

Dortmund need to spend close to 80 million to catch Bayern. They should get some money from Gundogan leaving (which seems like a foolish move on his part) and I would see Mkhitaryan. That should give them around 40 million odd back. They could do a lot worse than signing the current loanees at Everton, Lukaku and Deulofeu. Deulofeu would be brilliant, but Volland would be a suitable if they cannot get Lewandowski. Maybe a gamble on Holtby to replace Gundogan and then go all out for Ozil. However, they won't they will buy Sahin, Ramos and maybe Volland at best. They will maybe fall behind Schalke and finally Reus and Hummels will be off, leaving them without any world class players.

I did manage to watch both games during the week. It's funny how I missed all the Dortmund chances. Dortmund absolutely destroyed Schalke's poor set up in the second half and could easily have won 3 or 4 nil.

Maldeika, I did watch Bayern against Hertha and you are right the first half was unbelievable. The speed and accuracy of the passing was fantastic. Kroos and Schweinsteiger dominated play, but I really loved seeing Kroos get stuck in and use his physicality a lot more. It was frightening how good they were. The only shame was that the game was over in the first 13 minutes and they did not have to push themselves. That being said the problem with Rafinha playing right back reared it's head again. He gave away a stupid penalty, which could have put Hertha back into the game.

why not Messi?
What's so impossible about bringing in Puyol or Xavi, who looks like he is leaving? Cole and Evra are probably off too and Alonso will probably leave at the end of the following season. Vidic has already gone to Inter, but he wanted the sun so was never really an option. Wages could be a stumbling block, but with no transfer fee like the case for Vidic, Puyol, Evra and Cole then it can be made up. You did the same with Raul and this team more than ever needs a legendary experienced player to motivate and lead the youngsters.

EDIT
Even the likes of Klose and Etoo are examples of what is needed, but they unfortunately play where Huntelaar does.

If Xavi is available, even Alonso, both players could easily grace another top team in Europe.

I think Pellegrini was looking at Alonso before he signed his new deal this season, but I would take Xavi any day, having him, Toure and Fernandinho in a midfield three would be immense. Silva, Nasri and Sergio up top.

Xavi has picked up form and Alonso has come back well from his injury so I expect they will stay for one more season. It's in 2015 where I still think they would both be fantastic signings for a team in like Schalke. It might be a year premature for those guys, but not for the likes of Puyol, Vidic, Evra, Cole, Lampard, Etoo etc. You just have to make sure that they have come not just for the pay packet, but also to lead a young team. Etoo has worked wonders for the likes of Hazard and Oscar. You are probably aware of the influence Vieira had at City.

Schalke are one of the bigger teams in Europe. They have a huge stadium, despite debt make as much as Tottenham and have one of the best youth systems in the world. They have a great chance of finishing 2nd in the Bundesliga and though they shamed themselves did make the last 16 of the CL.

Raul was in large parts paid by Real Madrid while he was playing for Schalke.
Then you could try and make a similar deal for another player. However, Schalke still have one of the highest incomes in Europe, top 15. They can afford to pay big wages to the likes of Huntelaar. Since these players are in the 33-35 age range, there is no transfer fee and all the money can be spent on wages. It would be far more beneficial for Schalke to splash their summer investment on wages for such a player rather than bringing in the likes of Boateng or Aoga.

In an ideal world you would bring in legendary German players, but only Lahm and Schweinsteiger and Schalke have as much chance of buying Mess as those two. A few years back the likes of Hamann and Ballack would have been perfect, but now you have to go foreign.

The likes of Draxler, Meyer, Goretzka need the leadership and guidance to reach their full potential. These kids really need to learn the amount of after training work the greats put into their game. They need to see Lampard working hard on his shots, his touch after training sessions rather than Boateng having a beer and smoke. Even if they do fulfill their potential then they will end up like the Arsenal team. Talented players, but collapsing and being embarrassed with no fight, which the Schalke team already do.

Not all of them are going to want to play for Schalke and it's important to get somebody still hungry to prove something.
