As stated on my earlier post, I saw a few German games last season.

For me, Augsburg were the surprise package, after narrowly avoiding the drop the previous year.

Very impresswd with them at both Leverkusen (2-1 defeat) and Dortmund (2-2)

There is some that surprise this season. With Gladbach and Wolfsburg you could even count - it is more that others underperform. But Augsburg is still doing great, Mainz much better than you would have thought after they went out of the Europa Cup Qualifiers and lost the first cup round, Cologne and Paderborn (more if Paderborn) who just went up from 2nd Bundesliga.

I saw Paderborn win 6-1 in Dusseldorf last season. Tremendous pace on the counter attack as I recall.
I went to the Mainz-Augsburg game the other week. Friendly fans, but a strange walk to the ground, through what appeared to be a farmers field.
The same weekend I saw Bochum equalize with the last kick of the game against Darmstedt.

Only got 5 bundesliga grounds to go, and probably doing Hoffenheim in a couple of weeks.

You don´t happen to plan for the Hoffenheim - Frankfurt match by chance?

Will be there and sorted out two more blues from this forum with tickets. The more people I can drag to the dark side (Frankfurt) the better. ;)

Highlights of yesterday´s matchday were that Cologne twatted Hoffenheim and that Darmstadt won against Rat Ball Leipzig in the second division.
Darmstadt fans locked the Leipzig "fans" in the away section so the police had to get them out. ;)

Our match against Bayern was expected.
Ground full of plastics and gloating Bayern fans everywhere who have never seen their fucking team live before....great support by the Bayern supporters in the away section though.

I was thinking of the Hanover fixture, but if there’s a few going I might join you. I’m flying back from Rome on the Friday so it’s all a question of logistics.
Not sure you’d want me around though, as I’m hardly a lucky charm for Frankfurt.

I saw you lose 4-1 at Monchengladbach last season and a goalless draw at home to Werder Bremen.
I was also present for the goalless draw with Nurnberg the previous season. Big following from Nurnberg that day.

Wolfsburg with another win earlier. De Bruyne has really picked up his form. Ollic works so hard, but they still need a striker. I think they will get a top 4 place this season.

Dortmund have had most of the possession and Reus has hit the post, but they are lacking a bit of guile and quality in the attack. Kagawa is useless and it says it all that Immobile and Ramos are on the bench. Klopp should switch Reus centrally and bring Gundogan at some point. Mkhitaryan keeps missing chances, but at least he tries.

I actually thought Kagawa had a good game at Munich last week.

I agree about Dortmund's lack of guile. They seem to rely on counter attacking pace, and look ponderous when the opposition sit deep.

I like the look of Wolfsburg's right back. Pace, energy and an eye for goal.

He was okay in Munich, nothing more and that was much better than his general performance.

In the Dortmund won, but it was due to a terrible own goal from Krammer. Never been impressed with Krammer and don't see the hype about him. He is a decent player, but no more really. Gladbach were dissapointing, but Dortmund defended well. Piszcek was very good. Reus hit the bar and post with good efforts, Mkhitaryan missed an easy chance. I think Dortmund will get top 4, but Klopp needs to be ruthless with this squad. Kagawa, Immobile, Mkhitaryan, Ramos, Ji and Jojic are all not good enough and need to be shipped out. Durm and Weidenfeller could probably go too. They must replace Reus, Lewandowski and Gotze with proper quality in the summer and bring in a new keeper.

He did, he got their top rating in BamS and Kicker as I recall. I was at the Dortmund game and will be in Munich at the Hoffenheim game on the 22nd.
Credit to Frankfurt at the weekend for having a go but it backfired in the end, Müller was fantastic, thank f##k we sold Kroos and not him or Robben !

I saw Bayern beat Monchengladbach, on the opening day of last season.

Funny because one of Bayern's goals (1st?) was a carbon copy of the move for Muller's goal at the ETIHAD a few weeks later. Shame that City didn't do their homework.

Bembeltown has done me a huge favour (again) and it's me who he has managed to sorted tickets for in the away section.

We're going to Germany on the way back from Roma. My flight from Rome to Cologne on the Thursday was £14 and we'll be meeting Bembeltown on the Friday in Frankfurt before the game. I hadn't reminded him that I saw hoffenheim win the reverse fixture last season!

Sounds like you're a bit ahead of me in terms of ticking off Bundesliga grounds - after this trip I'll have 6 left, and if city get knocked out I'll be looking to tick a few more off this season.
