I really like the look of the kits and the white away "retro" one might actually be the first jersey I buy after...erm..20 years.

It is true that the design of the kits changes a lot for most clubs, but as long as the club colours are present there is usually not a lot of discussion about it.

Its a different story when clubs/sponsors try to add another colour like orange a couple years back for Bremen. The 3rd jerseys are usually some weird off colour as well (blue in our case) and thats why no one likes them.

But as long as the main kit is red/black/white I am fine.

Karlsruhe - Darmstadt is going to be a pretty exciting match tonight in the 2nd division....

Its basically 3rd placed Darmstadt versus 4th placed Karlsruhe and Darmstadt can jump directly to a promotion spot if they win, which I hope.

4000 Darmstadt Fans travelling down to Karlsruhe.

Come on you Lilien!

Really enjoying this thread especially hearing from supporters of less well known German teams.

Whilst you're here, do you chaps have any inside information on who might win the Bundesliga next year ?

I saw Darmstedt draw 1-1 at Bochum earlier in the season, when the home team equalized with the last kick of the game.
How crucial could that moment prove to be?

F*ck off Bochum...

Pretty sure your beloved Schanzer will still go up and maybe I have a chance to meet the one member of FCI Manchester City branch live and in full colour next season at our ground. ;)

First beers are on me...

@Alec: I am pretty sure that Bayern will win the league again next season. Wolfsburg might be able to give them a good run for their money if they invest wisely (they just bought Kruse from Gladbach).

I predict Gladbach will be in trouble, losing two key players with Kruse and Kramer and having to play in the Champions League as well...

Dortmund will be in transition, Leverkusen will bottle it as usual and Schalke needs to get rid of their manager AND their coach in my opinion.

I really hope they go up, not just because they are a local rival but simply because the whole story about the promotion could be a Hollywood Movie script.
Maybe I am a bit of a football romantic, but I just love those kind of stories in a world/sport which becomes more and more of a business.

I'd love to come to Frankfurt and watch Ingolstadt! I'm hopefully trying for a home game around August time and maybe an away trip the following Easter so hopefully it's the Commerzbank Arena and not the Volkswagen Arena!

Now its confirmed....we are not going down, our new jerseys look awesome, 2 of our most important players will be out for ages and miss the start of the new season, lots of trouble behind the scenes with our coach.

The future is bright....*cough*

Relegation battle is incredible intense with Stuttgart managing to win against Mainz, while Hannover, Hamburg and Freiburg only manage to get one point each.

Stuttgart - Hamburg next weekend and Stuttgart - Paderborn, Freiburg - Hannover the week after will be murder.

I somehow have a feeling that Hannover will go down now.

Just had a look at your shirt for next season - you're going to look like referee's in all black!

I see Bayern are back to all red and now Wolfsburg will be predominantly in white now. Do supporters not get a bit angry about those fundamental changes? You only need to have a look in the main forum to see how annoyed City fans are and thats just over the shorts and whether they are blue or white.

Dont know whats going on at Schalke, Ruhr. You seem to be playing like Spurs are, and doing everything you can to avoid the Europa League. I think they may be overtaken by at least one of Dortmund and/or Bremen. You've got easier games on paper but both will be fighting for survival.

The relegation battle is so close and the fixtures mean some teams have to play each other so there is lots of pressure with 2 to play.

13 Hertha 32 9 7 16 35 50 -15 34
14 Hamburg 32 8 8 16 22 48 -26 32
15 Freiburg 32 6 13 13 33 44 -11 31
16 Hannover 32 7 10 15 36 54 -18 31
17 Paderborn 32 7 10 15 30 62 -32 31
18 Stuttgart 32 7 9 16 38 58 -20 30

Anyone want to stick their neck out and say now who will go down now?

The fixtures are:
Hertha: Eintracht (H), Hoffenheim (A)
Hamburg: Stuttgart (A), Schalke (H)
Freiburg: Bayern (H), Hannover (A)
Hannover: Augsburg (A), Freiburg (H)
Paderborn: Schalke (A), Stuttgart (H)
Stuttgart: Hamburg (H), Paderborn (A)

Hannover would be a good answer - they have not won in 2015 and only drew 6. After the last three or four matches - which I watched - of Stuttgart and Hamburg I would say that there is big chance that they make it. I do not think that Bayern will loose in Freiburg - so it could be that Freiburg only makes the relegation rank. And maybe Hertha gets into it, too. That would be somehow the usual surprise... as they did not seem to have to do something with the relegation all season long.

So my guess
16th Freiburg or Hertha
17th Paderborn
18th Hannover

But a relegation of Stuttgart or Hamburg would be big drama...

--------------------------

About Wolfsburg - I do not think that they will be in the title race next season. They will play Champions League and that will take more energy of them than the Europa League group stage has. I even think that they partly overperformed.

Big win for Darmstadt yesterday....1-0 away at Karlsruhe securing them the second direct promotion slot.

They got it in their hands now and I really want them to go up. Kaiserslautern to secure the play off spot and hopefully get up as well, ideally sending Hamburg down in the process. One can dream...;)

I'll stick with my earlier prediction that Stuttgart and Hamburg will both stay up. Stuttgart will win their last two games, but Hamburg will overpower a disinterested Schalke on the last day.

Hamburg is in deep shit after todays result, big win for Stuttgart..Big points for Hannover and for Freiburg as well who beat Bayern 2-1.

I am pretty sure Stuttgart will beat Paderborn on the last match day and they will escape relegation.

Freiburg and Hannover will hopefully draw which means Hamburg will go down even if they win against Schalke. Which could very well be the case seeing that Schalke is piss poor.

Everything prepared for a lot of drama and tears on the last match day.

Ruhr, I will buy you a beer next time you are in Frankfurt if you talk to your mercenaries to get their shit together and beat Hamburg, deal?

I want them to go down so much....the amount of Schadenfreude across Germany will be insane.

I woke up this morning and went to Augsburg.

I was stood in the Hannover end and it was a good atmosphere, which I imagine was largely due to the performance. Three goals, three red cards, a penalty, and generally incident packed, it was a good game to attend.

When it really mattered, the Hannover players turned up, with the exception of Sakai. Someone needs to check if he had money on an Augsburg win.

Salif Sane and Leon Andreason played really well. It a difficult to tell whether City have players already at that level ready to step up from the academy like Fofana, but if not it would be worth a punt on Sane. He's built like Yaya but isn't technically as gifted, and yet he dominated everything in the air, and alleviated pressure in possession.

City have been linked with Augsburg's left back, Abdul Rahman Baba, but I wasn't overly impressed. Good first touch but he didn't get involved in the game enough. Having said that he won a penalty, but in my opinion was also at fault for the first Hannover goal when he challenged for a header and didn't get anywhere near.

Heading to the big traditionsverein game tomorrow, Ingolstadt v RB Leipzig. My flight home afterwards is a little pressed for time because Ingolstadt haven't got a proper tram or bus to take you back to the hbf. As you're now a member, I think you should have a word Alex!

Schalke can´t help, at least not with one the worst coaches in 20 years, but i´m pretty sure, HSV will commit some sort of suicide...

I think the reason behind that would be that you're probably one of the first football tourists ever! Having said that there are 16 Raith Rovers fans at the game today, as their town is twinned with Ingolstadt!

Are you including time for celebrating promotion too!? It's a massive game definitely so I'll keep quiet until after the final whistle!
