This is why I love Schanzer! What a trip!

So many people came up and said hello, my Dad claimed I was famous after I did a printed interview with the Donaukurier! The media team announced me over the stadium tannoy, as "There's the special one, but we have "the only one" ;)" "Welcome Alex and we hope you have a great time!". The official fan representatives took me pitch-side and we took part in the choreo. As for the game, what can you say. Where Grafe got seven minutes from I still don't know - five would've sufficed. Can't wait to be back and maybe i'll post the picture on here.

Alright...we lost the "derby" against Mainz (I actually refuse to call it derby because Mainz is not worth the derby tag) and then we lost the first derby since 33 years against Darmstadt as well. We play horrible football and our coach looks completely helpless as well.

I wonder what I did wrong ending up supporting this shower of shit. I blame you Charly Körbel, Uwe Bein and Tony Yeboah! :(

Guess beeing born in Frankfurt doesnt help either....Anyway 2nd division can be nice as well right?

At least you won´t struggle for tickets if you decide to come over again @cptaidan88.

what a strange idea, to write a story about you in the newspaper :-)

Well if a club only has one fan it surely is worth to write an article about. ;)

Jokes aside...I think in one of the last 11Freunde issues there was an article about a guy from Saudi Arabia? who convinced his parents that they would allow him to study in Germany, just so he would be able to go to Dortmund games.

Alex, you need to have a talk with your dad! Show some more effort ffs! :-)

-)

People had a public whipping in Saudi Arabia for minor offenses than this...

It appears I've caught the Bundesliga bug - I'd already been to Germany and football grounds on numerous occasions but Saturday was my first and I've already been looking to go back. The Bayern at home game is my birthday, so maybe... ;) The trip was really easy too, the Ingolstadt Airport Express was quick and painless. In regards to the game, well what can you say; but this is football. How Grafe got seven minutes added time is beyond me, should've been five for me. All the best to Benni Huebner, looked a painful one. Oh, and I was in the programme!

Here's some pictures if this works.

I still find it weird that you settled on Ingolstadt as 'your team' but sounds like you've had a good time. Thought it was quite a nice place when I visited last year, but recommend getting out and about to other grounds and other cities - even its for an Ingolstadt away game.

I was really surprised by the city itself, the Christkindlmarkts were on which made Friday night really good. We met up with some of my mates who are well up in the leading fan group and went for some drinks on Friday night whilst watching Schalke before getting in around 1am. They gave me loads of free stuff, I was going to buy the t-short from them but they gave me that, a bucket hat ( ;) ), a limited edition "merce buam" scarf from the Kaiserslautern away game and about 300 stickers for free (which i really needed after I've nearly ran out of my other ones from city games). I still don't know how I managed supporting them but i seem to have a proper bond with them, I met so many great people and it some ways it felt like a City home game. I met the media team who were very keen to meet me as well as about 50 fans who just came up and said hello as they knew who I was. I've been looking at flights for Leverkusen away last game of the season, which could be a good one.

Just noticed the gap at the top is down to 5 points. Wasn't it about 10 or 12 a few weeks ago?

Bayern lost to Gladbach last weekend and only managed to get one point out of the match against the mighty Eintracht Frankfurt.

If Dortmund would have managed a win against Hamburg (they lose every single game against HSV for whatever reason), the gap would be even smaller.

Meanwhile the German press is once more out in full force as our Ultras set a bit of fire to some banners and flags stolen from Darmstadt.

After the match a couple of our fans were pissed for obvious reasons and jumped on the pitch to talk with the players for not showing any effort at all in a derby match. Press declares it as "riots", while one of our players (Marc Stendera) who actually talked with the Ultras even told the press that he didnt feel threatned at all. The fans just were pissed for obvious reasons which he could understand.

Gotta hate the press for their shit stirring. Yes, its debatable if it is ok to burn the flags and banners of your opponent during the match but it was as far from riots as I am from beeing a Darmstadt fan.

Dortmund has a huge problem with their Nazi scum fans but for whatever they are still the media darling similar to St.Pauli who are always portrayed as the most loyal, creative and whatnot fans in the world, while a lot of them like to dress up in black and throw rocks and stones at the police whenever there is an opportunity.

no, the press was praising the good Ultras of Schalke for making a movie about the club history and presenting it ahead of the hannover game, turning the stands into a movie theatre

Quite pleased to see Hertha doing well. Hope they can keep it up after the winter break. What a Champions League trip that would be!

When can we expect the next batch of fixture changes for tv?

Me too.

Hertha is my German team and it's quite a transformation from the previous few years.

Berlin is a fantastic city and well worth a visit. The refurbished Olympic Stadium is a wonderful venue too.
