1860 has internal problems with their jordanian investor, who does not like the idea of spending his money without owning the club. What a surprise

you can spend as much as you want, but you have only 49 % of the votes (51% for the members of the club).
The boss of Hannover 96, who is also a sponsor of the club, wanted to challenge that rule at the EU courts, so they recently decided, if an investor is engaged in a club for 20 years, he can get the majority of votes, if club members and the FA/Bundesliga association agree.

1899 "Hopp"enheim is a bad example. Sponsor Dietmar Hopp is ruling the club (not officially of course, but everyone knows, that they are breaking the rules)

well he want to spend further money only as a loan, get 50% of the transfer rights, if the club buys a player with his money, a club manager from his own ranks, things like that.

The president of 1860 Munich is elected by the club members and has a number of control rights. So the members/fans are backing him, because he is representing their control rights. Maybe quite hard to understand for english football fans

Most of german clubs are original sport clubs with a football division in form of a stock company. Clubs are non-profit-organizations with many tax advantages. But the relationship to their football divison is very complicated. Currently the tax authorities are investigating illegal payments of 1860 Munich club to their football company. That could cause the club losing the non-profit status and that would mean that 1860 Munich as a club goes insolvent.

There are rumours, that the jordanian investor would be happy, if the club would go into adminstration. Because that would mean, that an insolvency administrator would take over the job of the club president and the president would lose his control rights. But that´s dangeorus, because then 1860 maybe has to restart in League 4. Anyway, it seems like he is blackmailing the club members with his financial powers. You see, it is a kind of a business war.

So, i don´t see 1860 Munich in the Bundesliga in any near future. I even guess the Bundesliga association would be happy to see the whole thing collapse and see both disappear, 1860 and the investor

Where do you stand on 'non-traditional' clubs like RB Leipzig?

Well i´m not a hardliner. I even travelled twice to away matches at Hoffenheim without calling Mr. Hopp a "Hurensohn". Maybe there is an good argument for the existence of Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim and Leverkusen.

But RB Leipzig is a different thing. I hated RED BULL already for what they did at Salzburg and it´s the same with RB Leipzig. This club only exists for marketing purposes of RED BULL. They have no connection to Leipzig, they have chosen the city because of the empty world cup stadium and the shameful downfall of the local clubs Lokomotive and Chemie. If this is the future of the Bundesliga (like this ridiculous austrian clubs) , it´s time to say goodbye

There is a good argument for clubs like Leverkusen. It was the sports club of the company and so ever supported by the company.

And Hoffenheim - a rich man started 1990 to help his hometown club from about 10th division into Bundesliga - without financial interest apart from burning his own money. Does not overact on it. Builds them a stadium, a training center etc. and takes care of the losses. Is interested into devoloping young players. Does not try to rule the league. Does not pay high wages and high transfer fees.

Actually - a lot of the clubs around my hometown have somehow a support from local businessmen who have an interest in their clubs and burn their money like this. It is in smaller dimension - often is in 5th or 6th league. A lot of the Bundesliga clubs had "sponsors" like this in their history. Nuremberg's expresident A. Roth is the owner of big company and put a lot of his money into the club in the 90s - and saved them from bankruptcy. It is nothing new. I guess there was somebody like this in every of the clubs history. I remember that e.g. Mönchengladbach in the 80s wanted to keep Matthäus from going to Munich and offered him a contract that was nearly as good paid that was sponsored by a couple of businessmen or companies.
