Burnley (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Tell the truth for fucks sake. You’re gutted. Genuinely, positively, gutted that we won and go top of the league.
Your script was written before kick off. And you’re gutted that you don’t get to moan about dropped points. You’re angry that we win a tough game.

What are you implying you dickhead? I'm disappointed we only scored one goal against a shit as good as relegated Burnley that Forest battered at the weekend. You tell the fucking truth, you're as gutted as me and everyone else we failed to rack up the goals tonight and are taking your anger out on people like myself who actually put that disappointment into words
I've supported this club since 1968, you really think im angry we won, what a cretin you are.

They're on the same goal difference currently and have scored 3 fewer goals. It's tight. I still think points decide things. To win 5 games in a row is a challenge for both sides.
Yeah, like I think you've just posted in your other post, this isn't going down to GD anyway. Goal difference is just something the media have made everyone get excited by since we've pegged Arsenal back. I expect both teams will drop points but we will win the league.

Fair play to Burnley. Were determined not to be humiliated in relegation and gave us a game. Just not good enough to stay up but probably too good to stay down, so adieu until 27-28.
Burnley looked terrible at Forest ..... we had the perfect start tonight, and should have gone all out to add a second goal within minutes, instead of playing the ball between ourselves and basically getting nowhere ..... we frustrated ourselves with poor final balls, and a lot of poor interplay too that Burnleys massed defence found all too easy to intercept .. add to that the fact that most of our shooting was pretty poor too, and its easy to see why it was such a frustating game.

But we did get the win and points so we've got to hope it's gonna be enough.

Why not? Arsenal have played half the season like that and won them. They're not likely to win their last 5 on current form and we might not even have to. Nothing wrong with the performance, everyone's just frustrated because the goals didn't go in. Expecting too much as usual.
Arsenal have not played like we did tonight for “half the season”. They’d be in the bottom half if they had.

Burnley fans must be looking at that performance and thinking where has this been all season , i would feel cheated as a Burnley fan watching my team turn up once a season, and thats down to the manager , Parker is just a well dressed Championship manager.

To be fair to Burnley I've watched them put in some decent performances but they just haven't got the results they probably merited.

Not a classic proformance but the points are main thing also can't see arsenal winning weekend never mind all their games

People expecting a 3, 4 or 5 nil win after sunday were fucking deluded, this was ALWAYS going to be close, they HAD to get a result to stay in the Premier league, we WIN & Move on !!
That was only the narrative from sky they knew it wasn’t happening after Sunday. So they’d had a stick to beat us with and give hope to the tarquins utter thundercunts

Who would you suggest bringing on? We were absolutely dominating the last 20 minutes with our best players on.You can’t legislate for piss poor shooting
Dominating with clearly tired players.Fresh legs were needed and the likes of Foden and Marmoush have got goals in them.

It's HUGE challenge for Arsenal based on their form, not just recent but for the past 2-3 months. They've scraped several wins, late goals at Everton against the run of play, laboured in all their CL matches, only just scraped past Mansfield in the FAC, lost a 2-goal lead at Wolves.

They then had several chances to show the world they are the still team to beat then one after the other failed them miserably. Lost to us in the Carabau final, then lost to Championship side Southampton in the FAC, lost at home to Bournemouth, then lost their chance to effectively seal the title against us on Sunday.

Their season is all but in tatters and their confidence must be on the floor. They're two matches away from potentially winning nothing at all, one more PL defeat and a loss they can't overturn in the CL all but finishes them off. Tonight, losing the lead after being on top for all that time was yet another punch to the gut, make no mistake, and it's going to be some comeback to win their remaining 5 in the midst of two tough CL matches v Atletico, a comeback I don't think they're capable of even in their prime.

Precisely because we've been playing so well.

And the 200 days thing is no more than a sound byte - what difference does that make?

Have a look on the Arsenal forums - I bet there's a bit more belief than there was at 5 past 8.
Like someone else has posted, 9 days ago, they were 9 points clear.

Their arses have fallen out over the course of the last few weeks. In near monumental fashion.

What exactly do you think will have given Arsenal 'belief' tonight? The fact we created 28 chances away from home and only scored 1? They haven't created 28 chances in their last 5 games.

We just need to win all our games. And we completed the first part of that tonight. Don't get sucked in by the media driven narrative that this title race is going to goal difference. Because it isn't mate.

Happy clapper tells everyone they didn't see what they just saw in world's most predictable forum comment.
yeah, im happy. You are on the other hand happy only when you are moaning about others while sitting on your ass doing exactly nothing. You have great expectations and measure of proper play for others, but probably nothing for yourself. Thats why you are mostly negative and your judgments are shit. Check your post history about Pep or this team upon this year. All predictions and judgments wrong or just negative. As i told you, go watch fifa matches, then you gonna have much more goals, great plays, accurate passes and so on

Yep, they never actually looked like ever winning the game themselves, but they set their stall out to keep any City win down to an absolute minimum.

It waasn't only Sky, a lot of people on here expected a big win. Just read the comments back, "missed opportunity" must have been typed a hundred times.

Could and should have won by 3 or 4 but we didn't and Burnley always appeared to be in the game.

On reflection, they didn't nearly score but we should have scored more from our chances.

Sunday played a part I think but job done over 2 games.

Burnleys next manager should be, Scott Parker! Mad if they get rid, he'll bring them back up.
