Burnley (A) Post Match Thread

Front 3 were piss poor today, it happens

By far the worst game I’ve seen from Walker. Again it happens

Hopefully this is just a blip and they will come back revitalised.

Away on hols at the moment so not seen game
Was it really as bad as the first 5 pages suggest or did we just not finish them off.
Draw against cloggers away from home and no injuries seems like old an ok result to me at this stage in the season all considered....
We completely dominated for 75 minutes but struggled to get that breakthrough for the second goal to end the game. Then it came and we fluffed it, Guardiola was his arse big time!

Hart - loved by all, but we had to move on.

zabba - fav player, bleeds blue, legs went, moved on.

Yaya - big game player, semi, final. Men against kids. Served so well, but age and pace got best of him, we move on.

Now controversial bit, and not a reaction to today....

Aguero, love him, history maker in every sense, perfect in the 18yrd box, however, lost a yard of pace, and not as effective outside the 18yrd box.

Never ever thought I would say it, although though it for several months, time to cash in. It’s like that best car you ever had, will never be replaced but has just got outdated...I really love him, however....... Times approaching....
24 goals this season - going to score over 30. Hardly a fading force - and still only 29. In a Pep team he has to do more of the things that are not his strengths - playing deeper, closing players down etc - don't let that colour your judgement because he's not the best at that stuff. Until 18 months ago he was a specialist predator in and around the box - the absolute best. Still very much a monumental goalscorer - still the Prem's greatest goalscorer. He'll be pivotal to whatever success we have in the Champions League - David sliding the ball to him through small gaps in the box.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned or not, but for all the pre-match paranoia about how they’d kick lumps out of us, that clearly wasn’t the case. We were obviously the better team, but fair play to them for sticking in when they were up against it and getting a point. They fought hard but fair.

Excellent summary of Sergio, I did wonder why Pep tried tomchange him into a more rounded player when Sergio was the one player he just needed to allow to do what he does ie. Score goals like a machine. Think he hates all the closing down stuff and getting pulled out wide too much. Have to say, that closing remark about Dave slipping a through ball between players......the one player you'd want on the end of it to bury it is Sergio. Maybe he's not Peps idea of an ideal striker, but still has enough attributes to stay in the team.

agree and credit to burnley for at least having a go , how many games have we seen this season when teams have parked the bus ? we have looked a little jaded these past few weeks and the weeks rest will do us good , 12 to play 13 ahead is amazing for the 1st day of feb

Getting to something when we're grateful an opposing team didn't try to snap our players legs! But yeah I know what you mean. They did kind of earn their point. Still turgid football though.

Just watched the motd highlights and during pep’s interview it was noted about his cough. This is something I have noticed in a lot of his post match interviews and has been the case for over a year now. I am surprised it has not been picked up before, I think it is indicative of how much he puts into each game physically and emotionally. It is a bit of a concern, we want him to serve us for a long time, if he burns himself out it does not do anyone any good (except for the opposition!)

Start worrying when he sounds like Dyche.

Didn't quite work out for us against Burnley. We hammered them on the pitch, our second goal didn't transpire and they snatched an equalizer due to Walker being dozy when they launched one in. We move on and learn. Pep's way.

Beat west Brom. Post match thread 40 pages.
Draw against burnley nearly 80 pages of city fans declaring we've a shite team, got to dump Sergio, ilkay is rubbish, useless without David Silva. Never come on forum to express opinions until we drop points . Weird bunch of (supporters).
