Burnley (A) Post Match Thread

To be fair he was the most complimentary I’ve ever seen about us at half-time and at the end, absolutely gushing. He also rubbished the social media guff.

Robbie Savage seems to have had a change of allegiance. He used to be very complimentary when Bobby Manc was manager because he played with him. Then when Bobby went he used to slag us off big time.

But now he loves us again :) :) :)

Peter Walton convinced nobody but himself that VAR made the correct decision about the Jesus penalty. His compelling argument was that firstly the contact was incidental and that secondly the VAR official is entitled to make subjective decisions. Therefore check complete and on with the game.

At least he didn't claim it was an optical illusion like he did to justify a decision in favour of man u once.

The man has no shame. He must be a psychopath or something.

I can't grasp how an arm can be used, in the upper shirt sleeve area, as a part of Mahrez's body to judge offside, when if the ball hits the same location and goes in the goal it would be handball!

Can anyone explain, am I completely missing something that's recently been introduced?
It wouldn't be handball, though. Not by the laws of the game, anyway. The fabled "t-shirt line". If you're wearing a t-shirt (not one of those sleeveless monstrosities, by the way) and the ball strikes material, rather than flesh, a goal is supposed to be awarded. Whether individual refs would interpret the law differently is another argument.

13 wins on the bounce including 9 league wins, 9 league wins during which the opposition scored ZERO in normal time. Indeed, the only goal against in these 9 league games was scored by Chelsea on 92 mins.
On a roll.

Nice game to watch. even the commentary was good, I cant believe we have had to put up with the utter shite they gave us in past games.

Good solid performance to control the game, could have should have had more goals. VAR ruled the day not the ref and it performed well (for lfc and utd that is!)

Ederson - Bored mostly
Cancela - Took too many risks where he shouldnt
Laporto - Not good
Diash - Masterful and cool
Stonesy - Masterful
Bernardo - Flashes of the old Bernard
Rodri - Good solid cover, not as good with the passes sometimes
Gundog - Motm
Mahrez - no ffs this time
Jesus - Showed some flashes of what he's capable of
Sterling - Not his best today

Zinny - Glad he came on actually, dependable

All this about Ederson should have been sent off

unless I totally misunderstood what was said in the aftermath of the luiz red and martial dive.. even if it was denying a goal scoring opportunity.. which is stretching it a lot.. he wouldn’t have been sent off anyway cos he made an attempt to get the ball?

What the fuck is wrong with you?

Have you always got to post something negative?

Look at the result, the stats and ENJOY.

JJ
From post 121..... If ffss had of made a little side tap to ffs then we would probably have scored another. Just saying like as it's a team game all said and done. I also wish he wouldn't run into trouble as much and also pep guardiola stops his spitting as it's getting very habitual. Apart from these very small nuances it's onward and upwards to take on the scouse horde.

They should simplify it and use feet only then everybody can see the line perfectly but if they did that they wouldn't be able to cheat

The area between the chest and the shoulder is considered legal now as the the ball can connect as the same time in those areas.

Below the sleeve, iirc, is considered handball if deliberate.
