Burnley (A) | Post Match Thread

For many years, I was an honorary member of a group of journos who often told me how stories were produced. Football gossip was the best. "How do you get the gossip", I innocently asked.
They replied: "Er...we make it up."
One of that group became editor of a prominent football mag, but I'll not embarrass him.
Go on, tell us.
Many years ago l knew a bloke who both wrote and answered readers' problems for the magazine he worked for.
Truth seems to be a rare commodity in the print world let alone online.

We can't be so profligate next Sunday because we're not going to create many chances anyway. I would switch that front three around with Foden on the left, Sterling false nine, and Mahrez on the right. I know Sterling isn't the answer at all in the 9 role, but who bloody is. Agreed about Dias, we need him back for this one, otherwise their front three will relish the Laporte and Ake/Stones partnership
This is the same Stones who’s goal line clearance against the dippers won us the title.
He’ll do for me.

To be fair mate, we’d have said the same thing as them 15 years ago sitting in the relegation zone

Nah. I'd always prefer to play in a lower league and win games than watch my team play mind numbing football season after season. I am not paying for a season ticket to watch my team's main tactics being to fall over at the slightest touch, spend a minute taking a thrown-in or goal kick and lump it forward at every opportunity.

Ask yourself what was better: Pearce's last season or the year in the championship under KK?

Lots of people with tickets turned away at the gates without much protest. I reckon a few snides were on the market.

Imagine going to a game where you want to see that.
Only reason I want to see Burnley relegated is to make the media realise the impact of tramps from America investing in the PL. It’s all leveraged with Burnley so once they drop their now investors will not be wanting to put their hands in their pockets. It’s same with club buyouts like at Palace.

Ahh that's what it was!! I thought it was an M60 from the Burnley end had taken his legs out the way he rolled around. Jeez for a big guy he needs to be more robust. I don't like to see players giving it max when nobbled FFS. Get up and crack on a bit more like Zabba tough as fook.
Yeah, the defender went to do him then shit out and ended up tickling Rodders, who should/ve laughed at him and then nobbled him later.

Well I was pleasantly surprised at how easy that was. Would have liked to see Rodri replaced by Fernandinho after 65 mins to give him a rest after a busy international break. Still, beggars can't be choosers.
