agreed.
the only problem i see is what we do with our 80% possession, we can waste so much time pissing about sideways and backwards, our attempts vs. possession ratio must be the lowest in the league.
The best way to beat a team parking the bus is to flood the box and smash as many shots as possible low to the corners to score or create chances from spilled saves or to pump head high shots down the middle of the net for headers and deflections, and quicker diagonal through balls, being direct wears a team down.

yes i understand holding the ball and trying to draw a team out but that' not the best play here, our dropped points to "lesser" teams have originated from this.
We need 35 to 45 attempts to batter them, not like the eight attempts on 63% of the ball against united.
so often we give up our advantageous positions to pass back or sideways, allowing everyone to get back so we have to break down the whole team.

I read a good saying the other day:
"Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good" Does that not sum up a lot of our play?
or as Confucius said: "Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without."

not slagging one of the best teams on the planet, but improving should always be the goal, and implementing the above would be easy with the 68% to 80%
possession we will have in this one.
And Ederson should hoof it instead of fannying about

Wow.

For all those stressing about the next three games, you should look at it from a different perspective.

If we were to play in the quarters against burnley, semis against Leicester and final against brighton of the chumps league, would you be feeling confident?

I would, and I am! You should too.

You do realise these 'sideways and backwards passing serves a purpose and the players aren't just doing it for shits n giggles.

Could be onto something, may explain why we have struggled for points the last two seasons.

Again not worried about the starting 11. Although with Burnley expected to keep the whole of their squad and management behind the ball, I’d be a tiny bit more to see Ederson, Laporte, Bernardo, Sterling and Gundogan starting. Anyone else fine by me.

It’ll be a tough game. As was Palace away. And United. As will Brighton. Our players seem to be really focused on their goal: win the next game with three to go.
