Liar, no one remembers that game well after the boozing.
Lightweight!

Didn't we thrash Burnely 6-1 at Turf Moor in the driving rain a few seasons back or am I getting senile dementia?
Good news. Thanks for that.Burnley pitch was redone in 2017, it's full size now.
there is one big difference that posters just dont seem to be taking into consideration though. City HAVE to win, burnley dont. we will be aggressive and press like crazy. it will be 75% possession for City. and we must keep up that press even if we score 1, cos they do have the ability to score from a set piece if we get sloppy or defensive.
Oddly, I was talking to a Burnley fan yesterday about that game. He was saying how the home fans were praying the game would get abandoned because of the rain!
Of course, that's a big factor. You could of course flip it on it's head and say that City could be nervous and feeling the pressure. We certainly did for the first half hour on Wednesday.
I expect us to win. But I've been worried about this one for a while for the reasons I stated earlier.
I still remember their old pitch well: great views from every seat and you felt like you were on it with the players.Good news. Thanks for that.Burnley pitch was redone in 2017, it's full size now.
It would be impossible to beat the reigning champions of the Championship, while playing in the Championship :)https://www.lancs.live/sport/footba...ley-manchester-city-liverpool-record-16170309
Not sure about Championship.
As the saying goes its a funny old game and things can and do go wrong. But in this case I can't see anything less than 100% effort from our guys from the first whistle. No matter how much this lot want to slow the game down from the off they will have to defend deep and hard for most of the game. Some of them mentally are probably at 95% since the other night at Chelsea and while they would like to beat us are they really prepared to go the extra mile? They are way below us in skill terms and unless we make some terrible mistakes at the back we should win this by 2 or 3 goals. The only way the pain of losing to Spurs can be erased fully is for our boys to win the next three games that hunger and desire will be real and hard to resist on Sunday. The game against Brighton worries me if they still need something but Burnley and Leicester will not live with our passion and barring disaster we will win.they may be feeling some pressure, but i am firmly believing their self belief and coaching will shine through, and they will go through the gears and win. i think even the city players were looking to the spurs and utd games as a potential cock-up. with those out of the way it may be a new (or early season) city of shock and awe we see these last 3 games.
Was in the home end for that one. The Burnley fans mostly fucked off at 3-0. The game really should have been called off at halftime with the amount of standing water on the pitch, I think the referee said the scoreline was the only reason he didn't call it off.I remember thinking, sitting at the kitchen table at Ewing Towers, that I might just have a sneaky peak at the MDC. It was only seven minutes after kick off but I thought we might have just, maybe . . . . . . . . . . . I ended up texting my lad and saying we've only had seven minutes and we're three up!! And then it pissed down and I thought of the Luton game. Burnley fans were leaving in droves well before halftime. I think the second half was drawn 1-1 but we won the first half five or six to nowt.
Stop scaremongeringIs anyone getting any injury updates on the grapevine? KDB/Ferna look set to be gone for the season by all accounts but Stones, Mendy? Also, Gundo didnt look great when he came off on Friday....
Wed’ve got 10 that day if it wasn’t for the monsoon 2nd half!! aren’t we the only ever side to be 5-0 up away at h/t in prem league? Was in the home end for that one.
