Aslef strike on Northern and TPE will affect attendance at the game no doubt.
Looking difficult to get down from Edinburgh
Could you do Avanti Edinburgh to Warrington then Transport for Wales Warrington to Manchester?
Just looking at that ..looks like I can do avanti to Preston then Northern
Trains home on Thursday look ok
Northern are on strike the same day as TPE so going via Warrington or maybe even Crewe may be the only available option.
I find hard to tell the difference between a strike day and a non strike with Northern. It's easier to just call it a day.Aslef strike on Northern and TPE will affect attendance at the game no doubt.
At least northern run the occasional train, tpe is just another expression for cancelled. We have the worst two operators in the country. If either was in london, they would have been ditched years ago.I find hard to tell the difference between a strike day and a non strike with Northern. It's easier to just call it a day.
I don't buy a ticket for Northern until I'm standing on the platform and I can see the trainShit !!! Northern were still selling tickets so I thought I was ok. :(

Also having to work out alternate route from Edinburgh, looking at travelling on Tuesday instead but prices are double what paid for existing ticket.
They should let you travel day before if no trains. Avanti to Preston on the Wednesday was ok price wise
RMT finally got a deal they could accept. ASLEF have not been offered any negotiations. Nothing to accept. It's always ASLEF being Arse-LEF lately. RMT have finally learnt to accept, now this lot are being the awkward ones.
It doesn't help when people continue to go on the news and support the strikes even if they missed a football match because of the strikes or a hospital appointment for example.
