Burnley (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

There are certainly far better back ups out there than Gonzalez. We have him for now and time will tell whether he is good enough or I am right about him being a panic buy.
Name a few that are good enough and prepared to be back-up to Rodri.

He is never going to be a world beater but he is a very, very good back-up and showed that today. I can only think we are seeing a different game.

The point is it's absurd that you're effectively advocating those who are slagging off the club, the players and the coach on a weekly basis yet calling those out who are defending the very same. If you don't want to defend the club etc. against these bell-ends that's fine, that's your prerogative, but don't try to take away other's right to do so.

Sitting back and doing nothing while shit happens is why there's so much shit flying around.
The problem is that one set of posters press rtn in the heat of the moment, cos that's where the sport we love takes us.
It can be excused as rash and knee-jerking, on the most part.
Others who rock up 30 minutes after the game is done and drone on and on about the match day threads don't have this excuse to fall back on.
It is a calculated assault that, for some reason, the poster feels compelled to expose everyone else to their frustrations.
So, I submit that slagging off City fans for slagging off City players is a fools errand and one most other posters don't really care for in the post-match thread. It does to the post-match thread what the flappers do the the in-match threads, so it is actually self-defeating.

5 goals from which Burnley scored two and gifted another one. Against Arsenal we were far better and impressive. Pep put out a weakened team and was vindicated by the result. We got Rodri to rest, but this performance like Wolves was far from the scoreline.
You don’t fool anyone on here. You don’t go to games do you?

You're missing the point. It's the same old shit, everybody imagines these players are AI or something rather than human beings. Donnarumma's punt straight into touch was schoolboy stuff and could have led to a goal from a long throw. But this is the sort of thing that happens in every match and it happens because players are human. People need to begin to understand that if they ever want to get a grasp of the the game.
This’ll be good.

What point am I missing?

Of course you've got to disagree, because you're not really a blue are you? Just another whopper on this site who continually slags this club off! ANOTHER WHOPPER ON IGNORE!! Bye.
You come across a bit of a prick there mate, someone disagrees on a players performance and therefore they cant possibly really be a blue?

Great result although slightly unfair on Burnley..they played some decent stuff and caused us more problems than the rags did.
Doku is playing so so well and Erling just loves scoring especially against Burnley.
Nunes much better today and Nico O is excellent..
Happy days with the rags and dippers losing..our U18 stuffed the rags and the bucket rattling twats lost as well.
Enjoy your weekend boys n girls

Why? This fucker only slags the club off at every opportunity, look back on his posts then tell me im wrong. I don't send messages like that for one message. Hes a whopper, end of errand.

If savinho could improve any where near as much as Doku what a player he would be.
Strange game didn't feel like a 5-1 victory but then again Burnley won't go down.
Great to see Phil back to his best
Nunes will have enjoyed his goal too.

That was a strange game. If you'd told me at halftime we'd win that 5-1 I'd say you were mad.
We started off brightly, scored, were playing well and should have scored more. Then I've no idea what happened. A couple of sloppy passes, we seemed to get nervous, Burnley were lifted by that and it was a only a matter of time before they equalised which they duly did. They were then the better side.
The second half they still threatened but we gradually took control again and scored. Their heads went down a bit, we got a third and that was that. Pleased big Erl got two goals as nothing was coming off for him, though he did assist the second goal. The man is just a machine.
Great three points and Liverpool losing, in the eighth minute of added time, obviously given hoping they'd snatch a winner again , it was the icing on the cake. The rags lost and hopefully the barcodes will beat Arsenal.
A bit worrying Rodri keeps having problems, hopefully not too serious.
I still doubt we can challenge for the title, but who knows?

The match day thread was its usual disgraceful self. Filled with posts from utter bellends who have never forgiven this club for being taken over and ruining their self-deluded street cred that “we support a team that wins nothing. Aren’t we cool?”

Twitter is far far worse. One prolific poster who seemingly only uses City to sell tee-shirts “for good causes” and never has a good word to say about the team and a veritable plethora of other wankers.

I get double the high when we win. The natural high of winning a game o football and the extra high of knowing the team has just ruined a good few thousand “City fans” weekend’s.

I honestly believe we should ban the match day thread. It’s just that bad.

5-1
Never in doubt
We are on a roll
Another huge 3 points
We march on

Gonzalez had a very competent game mate. No idea what you’re seeing.
On the way back, Doku unplayable. Not sure Haaland was 100% for, but two goals. Have to agree with the poster, thought Gonzalez was not at his best. I can see why Pep has concerns. NOR just gets better and better. The defence missed Khus.

While we are on this good run, a few results in our favour will put pressure on the others.
Hold our nerve over the next few weeks, progress in the carabao and Champions league and we will be well up there with Rodri, Cherki, Kovacic etc back at full fitness.
Pep seems to be prepared to take a chance with the youngsters as opposed to flogging a few of the old players to death.
All looking good.

Hmmm 5-1 great result, but the performance was a bit meh in places at times,I thought Burnley actually knocked the ball about well, and not wanting to be negative but we still seem to ease off or drift in games, but it’s 3 points and at the end of the day that’s what matters onto Monaco wed now ..
