Burnley (H) | Post-Match Thread

It was pretty poor, but to be expected after the international break.

Bernie, Laporte, Rodri and Stones were above the rest.

It's hard to say who came out worse, Mahrez or Sterling, both were mediocre.

Kev also got away with another sketchy display, masked a little by a great strike just when we needed it.

The trust between Mahrez and Kev looks fucked again in my opinion, The Prince might be covering his own iffy form and fitness but he’s a team player the former knows the gig is up but unlike Bernado he’s not up for it.

If the daft minted Geordie’s are looking at spunking cash a fee for Mahrez of any sort would be a result otherwise we are left with a player who’s contract will be done after next season.

We now have a NMOTM, negative I know but it’s just a bit of fun as we are appreciative of our successes. Today was a close run thing between:

Mahrez
Raz
Cancello (second half)

We had a clear winner.

Your memory is wrong. Bernardo played near enough 100 games between being at his best.

The youngsters know that Mahrez and Sterling are levels above them. The know them, they see them every day and they're not deluded enough to think they're better at 18 after a couple of impressive cameos against lower league sides.

It's absolutely mind-numbing that the same clowns who spent years whining about Foden not playing enough are now going to do the same routine over Palmer.

Who said they thought they were better? It would be interesting o know when you thought this 100 game period was.

If you think wondering why he didn’t give him more than a couple minutes is actually complaining about game time and that we think he is better than others in the squad then the only clown around here is you. I mean 3 mins is as bad as not playing him at all, you can go longer than that and not even touch the ball.

Enjoy your evening Coco.

By the way, if you actually think Cole Palmer is anything other than delighted at being involved today, you're a joke.

His second ever league appearance as a professional. He'll be absolutely buzzing, bouncing off the walls, just like Phil was every time he got a run out at the beginning.

Soul Destroying? Fucking joke.
Wow mind reader and children’s entertainer you have the lot Coco.

Lol at the people saying sterling is finished.

Stones was finished, Aguero was finished, kompany, Bernardo ....

Sterling will come back stronger, he might even leave but when have we just got rid before?
Yeah, some folk only need to see one of our players cock up a pass and they're finished. The Mahrez mishit for the Sterling tap in? Upto then Mahrez had a sublime touch. A couple of times today when we wanted the real touch it vanished, but every time he cuts in on his left I'm expecting a top corner finish.

Phil worked his absolute fucking socks off the same can’t be said of a couple of others, Last I saw Zach made one brilliant stop, cleared his box at corners he did his job today.
Zack had a very good game. Saved our bacon in the first half and never looked as though he was gonna fuck it up for us.

I hate to admit, but I don’t think Sterling wants to play for us any more. Today should have been the platform for him to prove to Pep and his team-mates that he deserves a new contract, but he fell short yet again. Maybe time to bank and invest in Haaland or someone who knows where the goal is.
Peps pre match presser was brilliant if you ask me. Basically told raz to go out there and prove me wrong for not picking you. Over to you raz and he was shite again

Raz’s role in the team today was make space with movement and the tap in cut backs. If Mahrez haven’t been a greedy twat in the first half then he’d have scored twice and therefore done his job. I can’t see a way back for him as a regular starter with us and it’s time to go, but don’t think you can really fault him as much as some one eyed supporters are doing today. But I wouldn’t expect anything more from our lovely supportive fan base nowerdays
Great 3 points. Was worried when I saw the team sheet. Brilliant from Bernie, Rodri and Stefan

I may be getting greedy but I don’t think we are as good as we were a few seasons back. Lack of pace and presence in midfield and of course almost impossible to replace Silva and Aguero. Think we desperately need Haaland to give our team some star quality and a focal point.
We are different but just as good or even better. We are 3 times stronger defensively, and we dominate just as much as ever. I would say we are now a 90/100 offensive and a 92/100 defensively, where before we were 98/100 offensively and 80/100 defensively.
