If we can't leave out Rodri for a newly promoted side at home, we never can. Nico had a good game, let's see him follow that up with a game with a stronger side and keep Rodri on ice for CL game.

Burnley will sit in deep, dont think we need Reijnders as there wont be much space to run into, get Phil in his best position and get some more threat down the wings, crosses for Haaland is how we break these down.

Why would we need to leave rodri out? He's had a week off and still needs minutes to build fitness and strength in the leg he didn't use for numerous months. Get the game won with the best team then worry about Monaco.

Another good test for us in our transition.

Arsenal was an opportunity to measure how far away we are from competing with the best sides. They dominated possession but we showed great character and determination to get a result.

This week we'll be up against a side that will defend deep and counter. Something we've struggled to deal with previously. Huddersfield was a good warm up in that regard, but Burnley will be better both on and off the ball.

Donnarumma, Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, O'Reilly, Rodri, Reijnders, Foden, Bernardo, Doku, Haaland

We'll need the full backs to be quick enough to deal with the counter and offer something going forwards.

City 2-0 Burnley.

Its not that we NEED to leave him out its a situation where in theory, we CAN leave him out and we have to take those chances whilst they're on offer as there isn't many of them over the season.

He might not need a rest right now but he absolutely cannot play 60 games this season off the back of an ACL injury so this is a perfect time to give him an extra rest, it'll be 1 less game he has to play this season and also gives Nico the opportunity to play who needs the minutes.

No need to rest players, or change anything. Why fix what's not broken. We are finally building towards something, looking better and better, so I would keep any changes to a minimum

Nunes in for Khus since Khus is apparently not available. Let's reward him for his 2nd half vs Arsenal. Besides, he will offer an offensive threat, provide some crosses for Erling as well.

A big win would be a massive confidence boost, when is the last time we hammered any team 4 or 5? Won't be easy, though, they have looked quite solid at the back thus far.

But it's not a binary choice of all or nothing. I'd want Rodri to be playing, say, half the game because, as others have said, he needs rhythm and he's building up to his level nicely, and visibly. He's not there yet.
Monaco have had a goodish start to their league (four wins, one defeat), but were smashed by Club Brugge, which I, for one, was a bit shocked by. What I'm saying is that I'd want to see Rod playing part/half of both games, and I'll be disappointed if he doesn't. If as you suggest we leave out both him and Rudolf completely against Burnley, then we're asking for trouble on a breakaway straight through the middle. Burnley have got a bit more to them than the last two times they came up.
Seen enough of those breakaway goals last season — the most annoying being at Wembley — to last me a lifetime…

Rodri does not need to be featuring in the League Cup at all at present.

Anyone thinking Savinho might get another go tomorrow instead of Bernardo?. Front three of Doku, Savinho and Haaland. Rodri, Foden and Reijnders midfield
Agree with this. Either Savinho or Bobb instead of Bernardo.

I'm not overly concerned about Monaco's quality, i just see the opportunity to leave Rodri on the bench tomorrow and would like to see us take it. He cannot play 60 games this season so a home game against a newly promoted side should be the ideal opportunity to rest him. If not tomorrow, then when? I'd also sooner see Rodri play 90 minutes midweek than 2 45-60 minutes at this stage. I believe that's going to be more beneficial for fitness. A midfield of Nico, Bernardo and Foden is more than capable of controlling the game, reijnders has offered absolutely nothing to protect us on transitions so far, foden in there instead of him actually makes us more solid and if Nico cannot do it against Burnley then what is the point of having him?

Is it safe to say Haaland starting tomorrow ?,
I've got several dreamteam players injured and unsure about my transfers CTID
