Burnley - Post Match Thread

@levets I would have been very annoyed as a player, to be honest. I've played in matches with similar kits like that and it completely throws off your passing as peripheral vision (which is nearly all of your field of vision, as it turns out) is shot with such similar tops. It may seem minor but even a slightly later recognition that a teammate is in a certain position or making a run makes a big difference in execution, especially at higher levels.

No idea why we played in that travesty of a kit.

I agree completely. Also the sleeves although they are red/black appears maroon/claret. Very difficult to watch

I can even go along with the decision, but why not on the bench ? Had we suffered an injury in the back 3/4/5 it would surely be better to have him available.

Maybe he takes his wife shopping on Saturday afternoons and isn't available ?
Guess Pep thought complete break was important. If a CB git injured, he had Sagna to move inside again and Dinho or Nando to drop back if two defenders got injured.

Anyone mention as soon as Sane came on the full back runs 5 meters to push him and then ran back to position...Never seem that before!

I wonder if it's tough love. I get the impression he really likes Stones but knows he can drop him as a "corrective" measure without demotivating the lad. Pep is possibly the best possible manager for Stones' long term development.

Sorry Glenn Hoddle disagrees lol!

haha i saw that aswell, it was odd, the poof thought he was just giving him a little reminder to warn him against any fancy tricks.

Today was one occasion where the hideous orange kit should have been used. The black red was a clash. This coupled with the foggy camera lens meant I couldn't see properly. Was it just me? I'm sure those at the match wouldn't have seen a colour clash.

You should be so lucky, mate. The BT wankers had cataracts.

And fucking talk shite drooling over Chelsea that knob head Stuart Pearce couldn't BELIVE it i shit you not he said costsa was on or could be on the same level as messi and Ronaldo' the twats on drugs

That is a very good win with a bit of a depleted side and against a team who will give any team a game at home.

I really hope the week of prep does us good though, because we look shit at the moment.

Why does that surprise you? The guy thought Samaras was a left winger and David James was a striker!

That was old school from Burnley.

Fucking horrific on the eye. Play the channels, turn your back 4, get fucking amongst it. Which by the 2nd half had become outright fouling.

I thought we were excellent, actually. I'm not going to lie. Their tactics caught us cold for 20 minutes at the beginning, but once we realised we'd turned up to a gun fight with a sword and changed weaponary, we came to the party and were out fighting them. That is when they started fouling us and when the referee decided to become their 12th man.

It was scrappy, it was everything that is wrong with mentality in British football, but it was 3 points.

The kind that win you titles.

We have a must win situation against Chelsea next week. If we drop points against them it would be tough catching up with them having no European commitments.
