Burnley - Post match thread

SWP how is the fourth official gonna have a better view than the ref to make a decision? The ref is the ref he makes his own decisions on what he sees at the time .
Sky said he wasn't going to give him a red and that the 4th official had a word with him and then he got out the red,Le Tiss said that at the time

If I'm being objective about the Fernandinho incident we've seen them given and we've seen them not given, was it an attempt to clean the player out? Nope genuinely going for a lose ball same as the Burnley player was, the contact was minimal looking at the replay as well as the fact that his arse hits the ground before his feet do. I think they need to explain why "two feet off the ground" is banned to these pundits surely it's about not having a situation where a persons full bodyweight is coming down on someone's limb? There was little danger of that looking at the angle of the challenge he didn't come off the ground very high either, seems like they are literally just looking if two feet come off the ground a little bit without thinking about the reasons behind the rule. I can take this decision since they've been given before but it was no way as nailed on as our "non-biased" pundits were so unsurprisingly quick to try and claim.

Having said that we should know by now we will not be getting the same benefit of the doubt the other teams are getting, it should have been obvious to us from the start of the season because when have we been shown any leniency? Can we even say we've been given the right calls for us more often than not? We've had two correctly given penalties from Sterling recently, it might not be a coincidence that we get shit ref performances soon after a ref doing his job correctly benefits us in any way.

With the penalties we've not been given and the joke ones against us like the Sterling one(nice to see they have been consistent with that rule change too looking back...), the Aguero elbow that never was, the Luiz red card worthy incident that the ref completely blanked, the slap on Fernandinho's face that wasn't taken into account at all when he was sent off. The pundits even tried to say we "got away with one" with Sané's toe being offside and Silva not blocking the keepers view or getting anywhere near Sterling's shot against Arsenal, both of which would have been complete robberies had they not been given. Today again Bravo being fouled with two hands on the ball and a clean sheet goes up in smoke.

From the referee's to the pundits and media we are up against a sea of biased dishonest ****s IMO, we should use it to galvanise us and drive us on just to defy them.

Think he got booked for that incident , but could be wrong

Wont matter a jot as they will get mason to say he didnt see the kick and if he had he would have sent him off.

Just watch this space!

just want to say the guy on 5 live has owned that blond haired tosser savage- a real knownowt- well done mate savage was pathetic

Just back from the game. What a strange game to witness, it was like time had slowed down and each half lasted forever. Anyway, great result and well derserved. Kolo was my motm and hope he is getting some on here to eat humble pie fo,lowing his an ouncement in the team today. Kelechi played wellbut still has a long way to go before he should be considered a starter. Poor from Bravo for their goal, but he did make up for it late on. Sterling was energetic as ususl, but lacked the killer ball when it mattered. 3 points is what we needed and got, so well done to all the team and Pep.

Ref and nine bob note comes to mind

Just the right side of the line, I believe. He played it cunning, which is no mean feat in a language other than your mother tongue. Watch the shite pundits and press hyenas start circling now though.

They are already at it now on Twitter, Rob Palmer and some of his cronies implying how brave the hacks were in the face of the brutal Pep

Kolarov takes a lot of flack (quite rightly so most times) but he was absolutely magnificent today. A genuinely outstanding performance.

Thought i would take a look at the non match going match day thread , always good for a laugh and some real drama queens on there, the same old suspects coming out with the same old shite. Anyway back to this thread , a gutsy fighting performance we might have only been playing the East Lancs.Inbreds but 60 minutes with ten men following a game only 48 hours ago , the players deserve credit.
Pep's half time subs., turned the game Aguero came out like his backside was on fire a fully committed performance that we have'nt seen for a while also the crowd were brilliant mainly thanks to Mason who has got to be on a wind up to referee a game in that way. Finally Dinho's tackle was a yellow card , but the way he went into the tackle gave Mason a chance to follow the premier league's directions to hinder our progress (although it was'nt anywhere near as bad as the Rag player who did in two consecutive games), stupid tackle and he should know better.
