Burnley - Post match thread

One of the most heartening aspects of yesterday's game was the attitude of Silvia and Aguero when they came on. No sulking just pure determination. These guys we were brilliant.

Has anyone seen a replay of Daves penalty/free kick shout late on? Didn't see it on the motd (but was a little worse for wear by then) or on the extended highlights.

Can anyone post a clip of the Silva foul near the end, the one on him not his on Mee

The more I watch this, the more it does my head in. Have you EVER seen a keeper be clattered like this and no foul given. Absolutely bloody digraceful. Thank god it didn't costs us points in the end.

Did he ?

I saw the Sky version & noticed it immediately, unlike the commentators or Alan fucking Curbishly.

Tbh, whether Bravo should have done better, maybe he still should, but that's not the fucking point. The point is, we watch football week in week out, we see a ball come in, someone farts near a keeper & it's a free kick. Often just jumping close to a keeper is enough for them to drop the ball & the ref gives them a free pass. If he doesn't, they moan at him.

Suddenly, we have Manchester City, down to ten men, playing vs a team who have one chance in the game: lump it & head it. So the fucking referee, suddenly decides anything goes in the six yard box, as applying the fucking rules, would effectively finish Burnley off in the game. So their player is allowed to punch our goalkeeper in the mouth as he comes for the ball.

In 99 out of 100 games, a ref would give a free kick for that 'just in case'. In this instance, the bloke swings his arm toward Bravo's face, clear as day, & nothing is given.

If Bravo should have done better, fair enough, so should Joe & many other keepers we have seen drop the ball in similar circumstances, but to allow that assault to take place then, lest we forget, he also allowed the 2nd instance where the bloke headed it out of his hands, Nat Lofthouse style, as he couldn't have known in that instant, which attempt went over the line.

It fucking stinks.

That was absolutely a foul on Bravo for me. Not sure how much contact Vokes made with Bravo but Vokes is trying to cheat: there's no other reason to have his arm where it is. And all this stuff about Bravo should have been stronger is a bit of a red herring because regardless of what contact Vokes made, there's a bloody good chance he did enough to distract Bravo and cause him to miss his punch.

I've watched the 'assault' on Bravo a few times now, and at any other time in any other game with any other team, THAT is a foul on the goal keeper. He's jumping with his arm up into the keepers face.
The only thing we can take from it is 3 points and no injuries. How Magic Dave wasn't injured is beyond me, it's a dirty tackle and the refs assistant bottled it.

The officiating team can't be as bad as they were without being under instructions. PGMOL, FA or Gambling cartel - take your pick.
