Simeone would have the yonners back filling Turf Moor again

This thread would make worrying read for any Burnley fan. Could well end up like Charlton after Curbishley left.

Who is the best English manager of the last 20 years?

To be honest the question should be how many English managers have had top jobs in the last 20 years.

Hodgson and Southgate spring to mind although it's arguable that they didn't have top jobs in the premier league, Hodgson failed at dipperland like everyone before and after him.

Southgate?
Fat Sam?

I can only think of one that was given a proper shot and the was Harry at Spurs, but as I said how many foreign managers have failed at Spurs now? And at the Arse, and at the rags? And Bingos solitary title win at dipperland?

Would you want either managing City, ever?

Hopefully we will see him at a club with a fair bit more money and he can deliver on his promise that he’d play better football with better players or be confined to the scrap heap as a one trick pony.
Who would risk that though? He’s always going to be the no frills, Mike Bassett type of manager.

Yes I would, they do well with very little, the only way you can tell if they can handle a big job is to be given one on merit.
I hope you won’t be on our board deciding that then.

Southgate failed at Middlesbrough. Potter needs to complete his training to become a Pep clone by learning to teach his teams how to attack.

Howe will be sacked at Newcastle by Xmas in all likelihood. Not sure he’s a viable candidate to replace Pep.

Southgate failed at a club that wasn't a top club, now if he managed Arsenal or Spurs or the Scousers or Rags you might have a point. My point stands, when English managers consistently get jobs at top clubs then the point could be made.

The rags have stumbled from every nationality since Fergie and failed. Eric tent peg is their new beau because he's had success domestically with the biggest club in the Dutch league.

He’s not that far off, as his teams continually miss chance after chance..
