After the Rabbits in headlights/lack of belief performance against the Rags, they played like they can again last night.

Promotion is now very realistic, but Vinny is going to need big funds. It will be, awesome and fascinating to witness his efforts.
Had nothing to do with lack of belief. It was down to the quality of the players. Vinny has done well and would be brilliant in the PL as long as the funds are provided. Imagine what Vinny could've done with the type of fund Nottingham Forrest splashed out.

It’s not just big funds though, look at the amount Forest spent over the summer , something like 20 players iirc - totally smashed up a squad that was a coherent unit in the championship.

Vinny is doing a brilliant job, from what i have read from a lot of the Burnley fans they are (obviously) really enjoying watching an attacking team for once. They are still having to rely on the likes of Rodriguez and Barnes up front for goals, imagine if we had managed to get Delap over there somehow.

Delap is not doing massive numbers. He's only scored 3 at Stoke. He would not get in this Burnley team.

I don’t think Vincent needs or wants loads of money.

He seems very adept at identifying young, athletic, technical players who can be developed to make a step up.

Two forwards,a creative no.8 or 10 and a fullback will improve their squad and creative use of the loan system will be their main source of players.

Tommy Doyle,James Macatee and Liam Delap amongst many others will be available in the summer and Vincent’s stature, reputation and personality will be a big attraction for youngsters.

You don’t have to live in Burnley to play there.....there’s always Bacup !!

Yeah but he was never going to do massive numbers at Stoke, was he? Really weird loan, i understand the sentimental side of it for him but they're a terrible team and completely opposite to the style he's been playing at City.

It absolutely did where THB was concerned,he was very nervous and not his usual self.Nothing wrong with criticism where its warranted.
I keep trying to tell you that there was nothing they could have done other than maybe park the bus but Vinny doesn't want his team playing that way.

Take a look at the stats. A little more quality and the game could go either way. There's absolutely nothing to criticize Vinny or his team's performance for. He's done exceptionally well with what he has.

Might be true as far as Harwood-Bellis is concerned, but a very good friend of mine who is a lifelong Burnley fan, who has followed them all over the country, and was at Old Trafford the other night with his dad, simply held his hands up and said that they weren't the same quality. They're doing o.k., for where they are in their present development.
As I said to him, after I was with him to see them beat Norwich at Turf Moor in October, if Vin takes them up, I think he's got to be backed by their board at least to be able to get a quality striker. Someone who will put the simple chances away. It's painfully obvious that they're lacking that at present. Even against United that might have turned the match, although they were outplayed. Otherwise, they're a decent footballing side.
