Burnley v City - pre-match

this team is good enough to win this...it might be ugly but it can certainly win it......
it does show a lack of strength in depth however, but its completely understandable why pep has picked this team ....his comments about the upcoming fixtures across december should have given people a clue to the fact that this game was always going to be a hard one based on players fitness levels and having to rotate.

It shows that in the summer Pep and the boat have a lot of hard work to do as 4-5 of them shouldn't be here next year

Similar set up to Sevilla (a) last year

I think it is a balanced team. There is graft with Fernando, Fernandinho, there is pure class and creativity with Yaya, there is pace and dribbling with Sterling who will keep width and pose a counter attacking threat and there are goals as well with Aguero, Yaya and Nilito as well. It remains to be seem how Burnley will approach this game and that will be the main determinant of how this game goes.

The proof will be in the pudding I guess.
Pep at this point is starting to annoy me slightly in the messing about with teams and formations every few minutes. It seems as he wants to be seen as a man who wins games by his tactical genius as opposed to winning a match with a settled side with players knowing a system from min 1 to 90
Or he's managing his squad.

I think with no CL games now then we shall see a far more settled side.

Only gripe is no Sane, I don't see the point of him warming the bench game after game. He will only settle if he gets minutes, and as others have alluded to we seem to not have much faith in the youth in our senior squad.

He clearly isn't showing it in training and Pep has said that sometimes players need time to adapt. When he has come on he has looked like a rabbit in the headlights....he maybe one that doesn't work out but Pep is clearly managing him to try and make it work for the lad. He looks like a confidence player and one that could be great but also one that could be scared out of a game quite easily at present

Can't understate the importance of Tom Heaton to this Burnley team. They will be much weaker without him and we need to capitalise on that and get a win. 1-0 will do me just nicely, come on lads.

Nowhere near the same as dave or kev
Depends if we are talking about a 100% Kev/Dave or a below par pairing.

Neither were ripping up tree last weekend or midweek.

I think Pep has enough credit in the bank to make those calls.
