Burnley v City - pre-match

Expecting a very tough game. They've already beaten Liverpool, and Arsenal were very fortunate to win there.

A 12.30 kick off after a Wednesday night European away game makes it even harder for us. Presume there will be a fair bit of rotation - can't see many playing three games in seven days. Virtually impossible predicting Guardiola's line-ups though.

Bravo
Sagna
Stones
Otamendi
Clichy
Fernandinho
Toure
Gundogan
De Bruyne
Nolito
Iheanacho

Burnley are no pushover.

Their forwards will be chasing down Bravo at every given opportunity, hoping he'll gift a chance; I won't be surprised if he makes another howler. As long as at the end of the season he saves us more points than he costs us I'll be happy.

I can see Pep going 3-5-1-1, but you never know. As long as we play the fast paced, decisive football we are capable of then we should be home and dry by HT. We will just need to make good use of the bench, as 3 games in 7 days is a lot to ask.

They are terrible away from home, buggers on their own ground. It'll be a tough 1-1 for an hour, the superior class will tell and City win 3-1, iheanacho to score two.

anybody expecting a walk in the park will be disappointed , the inbreds will defend for their lives and we will be leggy from a tough champs league away game . they used to be the whipping boys when we played them and i remember a few 4 , 5, 6 goals victories in the past , unfortunately their are no easy games in this league nowadays , i will take a victory any victory to keep the pressure on the new premiership champions Liverpool :)

I kind of disagree with that bit. I thought we were in control and controlled the tempo. The last 5 mins or so, the players had started to warm down.

for my sanity, please could you list the howlers as I am obviously not quite seeing them. I note one, possibly two at most. Being serious btw

An already tough game made tougher by our schedule. I'd take a scrappy win akin to Palace right now.

3 points would be nice to keep the pressure on teams around us, particularly with Chelsea in mind next week.

With our title rivals all having straightforward home matches this weekend, it would be great to get the 3 points at Burnley and at least keep pace. Yaya and Kelechi show - 1-3 City

Not sure which way this will go. Now we have CL last 16 in the bag we should be able to really go for it in the PL. Ya Ya will almost certainly stary and prob Nacho both will be fresh and both on the day can make there mark. On the other hand without our strongest team on Saturday we could struggle against a team that will be really up for a big scalp. Im sitting on the fence guys.

Is this a Freudian slip ........... YaYa being stary could mean he will be standing about in the middle of the pitch looking into space or just wandering around there as he has done quite a few times in the past!! :-) I just hope it is not a premonition!!

(Sorry makinghistory I couldn't resist it!!)

I'd take any type of win, no matter how scruffy because we just aren't playing well. Not sure why but the required intensity of the high pressing, movement off the ball and tempo of passing which the players seemed to grasp quite quickly when Pep first came in seems to be lost on them at the moment.
