But they could have chose to furlogh.
They would probably have got a little bit of bad press but not much due to size of club - Norwich didn't get much.
Even if they did though, that would surely be preferable to going bust.

Ironic that FFP was brought in to prevent situations like this ,we get banned and yet our football club is the model of financial stability , if FFP wasnt in place clubs like Burnley ,Everton , Newcastle , Villa could have had substantial investment from new owners but now they will be crying poverty for the next decade trying to recover from the financial implications of the virus

I think we all know why it was brought in - otherwise Fred's pie and pastry shop in Colne would have invested tens of pounds into Burnley, they could have been eating (pies) at the top table in Europe by now.
