Maffeo just isn't at the standard required and Diaz has chosen to leave. Foden and Garcia are getting a chance and will be given opportunity to prove themselves I reckon. It will take something special for any player to establish themselves in a team as good as this though. Muric is getting a chance but it's unfortunate that his time here overlaps with a young Ederson. He definitely has a chance to establish himself as second choice keeper that plays in cup competitions if he's satisfied with that. The others i don't know. They probably won't make it here, but that's not really any different from what's happening at other top clubs and their academies.

Your 2nd line is the reason I don’t think they’ll make it. With our resources, we’ll always be likely to get out the cheque book and buy the finished or near-finished article. Does that trouble me? Not one iota. As long as the trophies keep landing and the trips to Wembley need booking I’ll be totally happy.
