Burton (First Leg) Post Match Thread

Have to say I am loving Pep's approach in the last couple of cup games. Helps that our squad is arguably the deepest ever assembled in England but it's great to see strong teams going out and going for the kill.

Putting our bad run behind us with some big wins can only be a good thing. Second leg is surely a formality now.

Seems to me that very few seasoncard holders are in the League Cup scheme. I think many gave it up when seasoncards went up, but now this means that very few seasoncard holders are going. I sit in a block that is 100% seasoncards and I hardly recognised anybody this evening.

When the Seasoncard renewals come through I would say for anyone who joins a scheme, knock £40 off their renewal per scheme.

if you look at attendances then the weekend kick-offs are all sold out whilst midweek Cup games struggle to sell out. In my opinion this is down to non-attending seasoncard holders.

I dropped out of the Cup schemes a few seasons back not because of cost but due to the fact that it is a ball ache to get to the stadium for mid-week night matches. I rejoined the FA Cup scheme this year as hopefully most of the matches would be at the weekend with early kick offs.

After the Rotherham match I got the tram back to Piccadilly and transferred to an Altrincham tram. This was a single unit and was overcrowded when it departed, more people boarded (or attempted to) at the stops up to Trafford Bar some people opting to remain on the platforms. In a so called developed society public transport should not treat customers like cattle, why the twats at Metrolink can't use double units for an hour leading up to the match and afterwards is baffling.
 
What I like most about this is that, as with Rotherham, the players did not go on holiday, and in fact scored more in the second half than in the first. By half time, as with Rotherham, it was a done deal. Pep has these players hungry. They don’t do downing tools. That is why we will hunt those dippers down, I believe. It won’t be easy, but it will happen.
