Expect the team to be the same as Rotherham with the only changes being potentially Stones and Sterling to be rotated out, presumably for sane and kompany/Laporte. unsure what hes going to do with Muric, it should be fine playing him in this but not sure about a final against spurs or Chelsea. Normally the second keeper would play throughout but he's not our second keeper, he's our third that's bumped up due to injuries.

Muric
Walker
Kompany
Otamendi
Zinchenko
Gundogan
Kdb
Foden
Sane
Mahrez
Jesus

Burton are a poorer side than Rotherham, i don't expect 7 again but I do expect us to knock in at least 4/5 and put the tie beyond all doubt and thats not being disrepesctful to Burton it's just the gulf in class between the two sides.

------------------------Muric------------------------
Danilo--------Stones----Otamendi---Zinchenko
---------------------Gundogan----------------------
-------------De Bruyne-----Foden-----------------
Mahrez--------------Aguero------------------Sane

Bench: Ederson, Walker, Delph, Garcia, Bernardo, Sterling, Jesus

Having already fielded a 'second string' team at the weekend, it's difficult to know whether many of the starters against Liverpool come back in or if the players that did well against Rotherham get another start. I'd give Fernandinho, Laporte and David Silva the night off again and unless Kompany has totally recovered from whatever problem he felt against Liverpool, it's not worth taking any unnecessary risks with him either.

It's definitely worth going strong enough to attempt to put the tie to bed and giving ourselves the platform to field a couple more youngsters in the second leg.

Agreed, an equi-distant, neutral venue like Elland Road would have been more suitable with the other tie played at the Emirates.
This.

EFL should show FA the way. One off semi at neutral EFL venue. Plenty of decent seater grounds available.

It still baffles me that this cup comp still allows a 2 legged semi. What with all the fixture pile ups ect

If it didn’t what would differentiate it from the fa cup ? ( apart from no non league potential opponents)....therefore making it a redundant trophy.

When your as old as me - Denis Tueart special moment still burns strong in the memory
