Fuck me you're putting some effort into slagging off lower league footy and Bury. Mostly bollox as well.

All I've said is the people of bury don't care enough and bury FC no longer play football
Manchester city even offered them the use of our old training ground for free, and they fuck that up by not paying the running bills, if they went and asked for help and still fuck it up, then they don't deserve any more chances

Manchester city club and fans were always giving them help and playing friendly games, even once put up a seat sale for £10, and we did our bit again. Time was up, the bury people had to help once last chance and it did not come

football change because of covid-19, but bury troubles started long before covid-19
it's now better run football clubs with or without backers running the club's in the right way and not looking for others to help out, they cut their cloth without looking loaning assets,

I hope somebody will buy bury and build a very good run club working within its means of around 3 to 4 thousand fans turning up paying to watch, but I don't see it

It’s quite common in referendums to specify a certain margin so that people can’t query the legitimacy of the result. I remember a vote once that ended up at 51.8% and it caused no end of problems.
Haha. And Brexit went ahead! So in this vote more than 51.8% agree the clubs should merge and yet it doesn’t go ahead! It’s bonkers. The majority of Bury folk want the merger and want football back at Gigg Lane and yet the votes of a minority are scuppering the entire shebang! Can’t believe what’s going on and am genuinely gutted for Bury FC and all who love it.

Yes obviously but why set it at 66% YES when 51% YES equates to a majority? I don’t get it.
Each entity is a Mutual Society and the rules of the individual societies state that 66% of that society must vote in favour of a motion for it to pass. Not sure if the final decision was made by attendance at the EGM with the initial polling just getting it on the ballot paper. Either way you can't look at at the two ballots as a whole otherwise the strong turnout at AFC would override the democratic process of another wholly independent organisation.

AFC Bury have a good base and level of support and if they get back to Gigg that support will probably increase so they have a future. Not sure about the other group.

The whole thing is a complete debacle. Talk about turkeys voting for Christmas! Somehow and I don’t know how, they HAVE to just merge anyway. Can’t the ‘board’ of Bury FC say to the AFC club, ‘right lads next year we don’t mind you playing home games at Gigg Lane - oh and we don’t mind if you change your name to Bury FC whilst you’re at it’
Sure, it may piss off those few hundred who didn’t want the merger but they’re still going to get 3000+ fans.

But a majority of Bury folk haven't commented on the merger, just 1% of the boroughs population. Ask them if they want £450,000 of leveling up funding to be put into this.

Using Brexit is a bad example as it was one question to one society (us) with a first past the post rule.

If the boards of City and United put a vote to merge out there and United's 184 million social media followers said yes and our 108 million said no then on your basis we'd merge. But done as individual societies we wouldn't as one party doesn't want to.

It's not bonkers it's the democratic process for each legal entity..

Totally unrelated but has anyone been to the neuven stadium where these and radcliffe play? It's just down the road from me and I want to visit. Is it all seated? My 2 little ones get restless sitting down into the 2nd half. At other local grounds like Atherton , Prestwich and daisy hill there's bits of space and grass etc that they can mess about in while the games on. Anything like that here?
