Business Forum

I run a business and can give business to people and am also always in need of new business.

I'd be up for this...

Be useful if people posted what line of business they are in.

(Construction Consultancy...... Project Management, QS, CDM, Party wall etc.)

As mentioned in a PM to Maly, it is something I'm willing to consider.

Can see the benefit of it - times are hard and anything that helps out fellow Blues is a good thing. My only concerns are that it is another forum that we'll have to moderate, and concerns over possible spamming. Also, if anyone hires someone off there and isn't happy with the job done I don't want to be held responsible!

Will let you know when we come to a decision.

On another forum I use, they have a sub-forum which can only be accessed by members who have been approved to use it by the admins - i.e someone can't just sign up for the site and then spam in there. If someone such as e.g. the OP was willing to screen all requests for access (presumably checking that the poster has been on BM a while and is known to be a genuine and sensible poster, and that their business is legitimate, it would reduce workload for you and they could just send you a list of members of be granted access. In theory it could then be pretty much self moderating.
I would be surprised if and bad experiences were blamed on the site/you but of course, it could be a T&C of registering that people undertake dealings at their own risk.

Need to keep this thread going so more Bluemooners can see it and add their thoughts. To me its a no brainer, ca`nt for the life of me see why anyone would be against it, only downside is some bugger has to do the admin on the board ! would a small one off admin fee be of any help towards this ?
On a personal note I`m sure there are some `old boilers` on here who could do with a good service ;) but I am busy lol.
Building/Plumbing and Heating/Boiler repairs....... all trained for at college, Tameside and (spit) Trafford tech.

Ahh the "more equal than others" question all over again......Only joking Ric

I think the "business user register" is a good idea to stop spammers, However, these things cost time and money to set up and the question has to be asked will this "Business Forum" still be active in say 6 months time or will Ric have wasted resources in setting it up.
