Businesses most vulnerable in the pandemic.

You tell me. I'm supposed to graduate in June. I don't want to stay any longer haha
Yeah exams are going to be impossible, getting people for next year is going to be impossible. Handing in thesis/dissertations should still be ok, while a lot of the lectures really should be able to go online without huge disruption, but without exams or new students, the whole thing will grind to a halt.

I am the Estates Manager in a school part of a trust and we already have contingency plans in place if one school closes or all schools close.

I have everything in place to manage the situation as best I can. Every visitor has to wash their hands prior to signing in, regular cleaning of common surfaces and door handles/buttons/code points.
I am constantly asking myself what more can I do.
Every sink, wash station has handwash facilities and the children are encouraged to wash their hands frequently.

The people I feel sorry for are private nurseries and care homes and the implications for those businesses are catastrophic.
If no children turn up to nurseries over a long period of time then they are likely to go bust.
Who will look after the people that need the care when there's no staff turning up for work?

It's a frightening situation for us all to be in because at some point, it will impact us all.

Universities are in big trouble. Losing the cash cow of foreign students (especially Chinese as they can't take their English language tests), plus they will all have to shut down soon, meaning what do they do with all the students who can't finish their years? It's going to mess everything up for a while.
There shouldn't be a problem with them taking English language tests unless they're from the Wuhan area specifically. We're still running them here in Malaysia.

I think China has shut down all it's testing centers though (could be wrong)

I was told on Tuesday that there are contingency plans to make all exams remote. Now, as a History student, that is nothing strange for me - in fact, I am set to have only my second 'traditional' exam in three years this summer. God knows how that would work for the STEM subjects, though.
