Buying tickets for a group...OS Clarification.

what the fuck does it matter if they are in the same block or not?
me and daughter are in one block together
wife and other two kids in the neighbouring block, does that mean we don't qualify to sit together?
come on that is ridiculous!

Mate i am going to chance my arm and get the 3 that i sit with together. All over 3K points. They have forcasted that everyone with over 3K points will get one so cant see what the problem is. I agree on a max but as said why a minimum??

It's to prevent people jumping the que by someone doing them a favour

to coin a phrase...

..."City have bottled it".

Not quite sure why they are retreating on all flanks now.

The original proposals were fine:
1) allowed parents to sit with kids
2) allowed lots of groups of mates to sit together (provided all had > 3000 points)
3) did not deny anyone ACCESS to a ticket, only maybe restricting CHOICE for a few unable to tap into scheme.

The new tighter proposals do not allow:
1) Dad to buy ticket for kid with lower loyalty points (other than through special junior offer)
2) people to hook up with mates in neighbouring blocks (but I am not sure how strictly this criteria will be enforced)

Why the backtrack?

Did too many people complain...or are they nervous that greater flexibility offered by original scheme would have resulted in such a high take up of tickets by all sc holders with 3000-8000+ points...that there would have been few left for those around 2000 points ....resulting in furious backlash from fans?

Following the earlier announcement of the ticketing arrangements for the semi-final against Manchester United on Saturday April 16th, the club has received a number of enquiries seeking clarification of the group booking process.

For the avoidance of doubt:

This process has been put in place to ensure those supporters who sit together at the Stadium are given the opportunity to sit together at Wembley. Obviously, not all supporters will have the same loyalty points, so in order to address this the following Group Booking process will apply:

The minimum number of supporters that qualify as a group is four, the maximum number who qualify as a group is six. Supporters wishing to purchase together as a group must be in possession of Seasoncards which are located in the same area (i.e. Stand/Block) at the City of Manchester Stadium. Appropriate checks will be carried out at the Point of Sale.A group of supporters may purchase semi-final tickets together as soon as 50% of the supporters have the requisite number of loyalty points, as long as all supporters have 3,000 points or more.

For those supporters on the 2010/11 FA Cup Games Direct Scheme who will directly benefit from having an accelerated purchase process, it is important to note that should they wish to sit with fellow supporters who are not active members of the FA Cup Games Direct Scheme, they can only purchase together when other Seasoncard holders within the group are eligible to purchase in their own right.

In line with the above, any one supporter can purchase up to six tickets, using valid, qualifying Seasoncards. To purchase tickets on behalf of other supporters, the buying supporter must be in possession of each of the respective cards at the time of booking and be prepared to answer a number of security questions relating to each of the card holders including date of birth, postcode and card number.

Hubby rang up this morning and he asked whether the group needed to be sat together at COMS and was told no, but you had to sit together at wembley.
Think we need official clarification publishing on the OS.

As stated on another thread:

I have 5000+ points and im on the cup direct scheme. So again i have quite a few points like some of the others on the cup direct scheme.

My dad however has 4400 points and is not on the cup direct scheme but has been to every cup game with me. Asked him to sign up but forgot i think.

This means i will have to wait until Tuesday 29th March so we can sit together.

Can understand the club wanting to reward people for attending the cup games and also think they've done this to boost attendances in the cups next year. Cant say i really agree through!!

Think the club should allow two people sat together book as a group.

Think everyone with 2000 points should get one in the end.

Just my opinion really.

My lads 19 and in a dif stand to me so if we can't get 2 together we'll get over it. But what about the dads who take a kid with them? Still only 2 of them.

The OS news seems to change on a hourly basis. Looks like they.ve thrown some ideas up rather than thinking about it and now are floundering about.

Imangine the chaos for final tickets.

The club has made a number of tickets available which may be purchased on behalf of junior Seasoncard holders. An adult Seasoncard holder who meets all the qualifying criteria to purchase a ticket may purchase a maximum of two junior tickets at the same time. This is subject to availability and adult Seasoncard holders must present the valid junior Seasoncard(s) at the time of purchase.
