BWSL 2022/23 Aston VIlla vs Manchester City

I’ve only been watching it for about 60 years and I’ll be far more knowledgeable after my eye test on Monday!!
It’s the unpredictable nature of football that makes it the greatest of all sports. To be a City supporter makes it perfect.

Probably high on Emma Hayes list. Steph will end her playing career at City and be added to the Chelsea coaching team an hour later!!
The other ex-City player that is one to watch is Izzy Christiansen who is completing her coaching badges at Everton. Excellent player and excellent pundit and I think will be a great coach.
Always liked a bit of Izzy

GT explains: "I just said at half-time] that we needed to be better with and without the ball.

I can't remember a game where we played solid football for two halves of one game. We either are poor the first half and then get it together, or we race into a lead and then stutter for 45mins.

He probably should be saying a bit more at half time tbh

I think the thing that riles a lot of people up about Taylor is that he doesn't seem to take any responsibility for the team's failings whatsoever. No, he can't help players not performing to their ability but he is responsible for the shape, tactics and motivation of that team. I have not once heard him say "I got that wrong". As soon as the team sheet was announced today I think I was a little worried especially about the midfield. I was happy that Aleixandri hadn't been left on her own in a straight swap for Walsh but to include both Coombs and Angeldahl, who I see as very similar type of player, seemed to negate any sort of creative aspect coming from that area of the pitch. So we were totally reliant on Hemp and Kelly again to provide the spark. For the team we want to be I don't think that's good enough.

That's fair. I'm disappointed my pre-match assessment was wrong - I thought that though maybe it wasn't creative, that it was a solid lineup that would be hard to beat and we'd have enough via Hemp or Kelly.

We let in 4. To Villa.

Mind you, all the goals were our own doing in one way or another really. I think we caused ourselves more problems than Villa did.

I don't rate Coombs, I don't really think she excels at anything, useful if we're trying to block a game out, yet today she was probobably our best player (not just because she scored twice either).

Spot on, we caused all 4 goals one way or another.

Am I right in thinking Kennedy didn’t play. Do we know if she was dropped or unavailable? Thanks
