BWSL 2022/23 Chelsea H 26-03-23 KO 12:40 Live BBC1

Great result and a very good team performance today. Seemed like everyone knew what to do and where to be. Made a nice change from the usual haphazard approach. Thought Angeldahl had a great first half and Hasegawa absolutely bossed the second. Two excellent finishes for the goals and good organisation (Steph back in probably helped with that) saw us through to full time. The only thing missing was a Bunny goal.

So critical we won this match.

If Arsenal and Chelsea both win their games in hand then we’re back to 4th due to our inferior goal difference.

Next weekend we have to beat Arsenal and still hope the Rags slip up somewhere along the way.

How crucial could the derby game on Sun 21 May be?

Angeldahl getting mentioned as she so well deserves, but Morgan and Aleixandri playing right and left back was also a big part of why we were able to move the ball effectively I think.

Coombs also good with this style, she doesn’t overdo it, always looking for the first touch pass when possible to create space for Hemp and others, and she’s also diligent when she needs to track back in defense.

Where are the naysayers from the first page??
Busy watching the game strangely.

We were awful last week so expecting us to beat Chelsea was a stretch, especially as they've just won away at Lyon.

Great performance really, especially against 12 man chelsea (referee), two good goals, though my suspicion was the first was a mishit cross. They rarely threatened us, due to some mostly good defending.

It would appear so. The ticketing web site is annoying though. There has been no seats available for this game for sometime and indeed the previous home match. Despite this for both games it has been quite clear how many empty seats there have been.
Because people don't sit in the seat they buy, they go and stand behind the goals because some prefer it.

I wasn't going today , but it was interesting see people posting on some City women's Facebook fan page , saying how they would love to go but can't get tickets "sold out" .
It must piss you off being sat at home watch on TV and seeing them empty seats !
Surely next season the Arsenal and Chelsea games are took too the Etihad . Clearly these games will pull 10,000 at lease ?
Ps Anyway great result today, with Hasegawa being player of match (especially 2nd half).
Couple of empty seats near me were because the two who were originally sat in them decided to go and stand behind the goal instead.

Can't account for them all though, further down our row there must have been 10 seats empty.

Me neither. The difference will be that we have five good chances and score one, they have two good chances and score both! We must be the most profligate club - men, women 'n kids - to create chance after chance and pee most of them up the barriers and into the terracing!
Well, as usual, I got the pre-match forecast hopelessly wrong. We were exceptional in the first half. Two great goals, the first of which I thought was going a yard wide - so did Berger.

We seem to have a very good midfield in Angeldahl, Hasegawa and Coombes.

Funny old game when Bunny doesn't score, but yer could see that she made the CFC defence a little edgy, particularly in the second half.

Houghton played well - getting back to the level of solidity we have become accustomed to over the years.

The ref was the usual cuntish whistler. On the Ewing foulometer (patented) we were being penalised when the needle was pointing to 40 or 50, whereas we were getting fuck all when it was rattling up to 85 and 90. Doesn't matter which side of the road yer watch City, we get the shitty end of the whistle week in and week out.

Best game of the season. Had we played like that for the majority of the season we would be sitting on the top. In fact, had we scored another four* in the second half without conceding we would be!

Pity our win today did the Ragettes a favour!

* Correction: had we scored another FOURTEEN in the second half we would jump over the Ragettes!

City were mithering me in the week to put my ticket on TE, and suggesting that it was sold out was rather strange. There must have been a good few who thought we were gonna get turned over and didn't turn up.
