Certain individuals lives have improved in that time (myself included) but I don’t know a single person who thinks life in general, and society, is better than it was at the beginning of the century.

The difference between them all, is what they blame it on!

A population increase of 15% does not help matters either. These Islands of ours are overcrowded.

The political parties are all as bad as each other as far as I am concerned. I don’t envisage anything getting better whoever is holding the reins.

To me, there’s no identity anymore, there’s a fag paper in political thinking between Starmer and Sunak supporters. The former may well spout champagne socialism but as the country is 2.6 trillion in debt even if he does get in his hands will be financially tied. He can and probably will increase taxes on those that can afford it but his Ministers will all be approaching him with their begging bowls, will be a bumpy ride.

Ignoring party politics (and unless there were mitigating circumstances that we are not aware of) the people of Tamworth clearly dodged a bullet there in terms of someone with the right mentality and character to be their representative. As for his little goon squad.

It's always been an issue that for some people standing for office is about what it gives them and not about service; but we seem to be entering into bottom of the barrel territory in some areas.

Edit: just watched the other video, where in fairness to him he does look a bit uncomfortable with what his missus is saying, I can't work out if it says more about the impact social media is having, or the perils of drinking or the state of our representative democracy. Either way it's depressing.

They're going to get obliterated in the next GE. The typical right of centre Tory voter thinks they're cunts and, as the Tamworth election shows, 10% think they're not right wing enough!! Which is mental.

Full reset/rebrand/reinvention will be needed after next year. Fucking good, the ruinous twats.
